Alright. Hi guys. If you guys are here on the live stream just bare with me for one second. I'm a one -man crew over here. so yeah, just give me one. Alright there we go just trying to make it so that I can see your comments. To do. Alright, Where are we? We're right there? perfect. Alright now. I'm gonna meet this going back. Alright. we're ready. Alright guys well. This is episode two here I have with me one of my BFFs Rebecca Weiner and the last episode I couldn't eat everything in my stomach was about to explode so as a good neighbor and BFF and she she also ordered some food too. So she's gonna eat it with me just to have more variety because there's only so much that I can eat. Alright. which would call it, We're gonna go ahead and start Rebecca. What do you have? I have the I'm not sure if I can say it correctly mistake Mistake Bowl. It's at the I know I know how it spell I just never I don't believe I've ever actually set it out loud. It's basically it's beef steak steak. Yeah, but it's a mistake is how it's spelled. B I S T E Okay. Let me. Read the exact It's called the Vistas Rice Bowl. It has skirt steak purple rice miso Coleman Farms Market Green Champagne mustard Bin House, pickled sunny egg crushed Perri a seeds in her blossoms. HM, that sounds good, so you can see the lettuce the egg mistake and then underneath it is the rice. Oh, I'm so excited awesome well while we wait for her to come on before we start eating and chowing down so. Those of you who are now turning in tuning in we started a series called the Milk Bank Series Mukbang is originated from the word moment, which means to eat in Korean and Hong means room. so then therefore that term became very popular and they combine the two words to become. so if you actually type in M, U K B, A N G in YouTube, you'll find a lot of different influencers doing it now. We're not doing it. To stop our Facebook, the reason why we're doing it is because it's been about over two weeks now now that we've kind of been in this quarantine lockdown situation with even stringent ordered and within even stringent order being issued last Thursday, and since then, a lot of restaurants have been getting hit hard because people are not allowed to eat and dine in the restaurant and most of them, I mean all of them are required to do delivery and takeout, but then most of them are not really. Set up for delivery or takeout, and so that's why we're here to go ahead and bring more visibility and exposure to these restaurants and cafes as you guys saw with coffee MCL yesterday they they just moved into the area eight months ago. yet their sales went down more than 50 percent and so you'll also learn about the restaurant today. So this restaurant today is called doubting Thomas La and they've been in the area. A few years now but they've also been hit really hard and despite that are state reps, our local city reps are are Will Congress finally signed the stimulus package today or how the House passed it and the President finally just signed it today, but it won't be weeks before these businesses will get any relief and with that. these businesses talking with the owner from today, talking with the owner from yesterday, they're not interested in more loans because they have to suddenly. Payback all of those loans with the Back-up rent as well, so it's just sending them down a rabbit hole and spiral of even more debt. and so they're actually asking for real assistance and that real assistance looks like rent breeds like why is it that hard? We're not talking about a moratorium on evictions. We need to go a step further where after this whole quarantine and lockdown is lifted, they don't have all of these financial obligations and debt to pay simply because they're operating a business. It wasn't their phones and so this is where our local state and federal officials really need to step up their game and so what we're doing. Is just trying to bring exposure to the local communities and local community businesses just like this one because they make up the lifeline of our communities without them. our communities will start crumbling and start rotting away and so so that's why we think it's important to go ahead and shine that spotlight on them. let me go ahead and scroll this just a second. I can't see any of the comments. So alright. So as we all go ahead and just let the owner know that we're ready ▁နည်းနည်း ချ မယ်နော Alright Thanks so much for tuning in. Alright, here's my coffee Americano. This is I think it's I think this was Rebecca. This is a lemonade. The spring lemonade. Yeah is that what you're drinking right now. Yeah Okay and also a great tip for you guys just one second. I have my handy-dandy notes from my campaign, finance director always remember to wash your hands to always sanitize. so even with us we have. We have our to go bag here. And the cardboard in it so what we did was, we transferred it over to the plates and I have to go wash my hands really quick. I'll be right back. I have my. Alright. Whenever you guys even get food takeout, what's recommended is what Rebecca what should they do? You should take well. Ideally you take the bag and leave the immediately throw the bag away like the bag you don't need and then the containers inside you take everything from the containers and poured it onto into separate containers. So like I took the drink and put it into a Cup and then the food is put onto a plate and then those containers. Disposed of as well and then you wash your hands. Well, you shouldn't wash your hand in the beginning before that and then you wash your hands again. Yeah. but yeah, yeah. So I also did wash my hands, but because I touch that bag, I just had to wash it again. so yeah, so just make sure that you have a good routines of of cleanliness of of hygiene because we really do care about you guys. If you care about the people that live with you, that's also the first and foremost thing to do And oh my gosh this carrot cake looks amazing. I wish I could give you some Rebecca. It's huge. It's huge look huge language. so what is it that you got so I got let me see this menu is so so amazing. Oh. so this is a veggie Rice Bowl. Okay. So it's like that I think that's like the veggie version of my tribe. Yeah, I tried to transfer to the plate as neatly as possible. Yey there's Naomi. So this is the veggie rice Bowl. This is market mushrooms, purple rice Meet so common Farms Market Greens, House pickle's, sunny eggs seeds and an herb blossom. so that's what it looks like so I think mine is just like a veggie version of yours right. Yes, yes, but you have steak and I have mushrooms. Yes. Mmm look at it. Why does my look bigger? I don't know okay. and then here. I think this one is called the sage. Ooh the Sage sausage breakfast Sandy. What is the are Those is that bread or or biscuits? It's a biscuit. So it's a homemade biscuit with a sunny side up egg, cheddar arugula and then whole grain mustard mayonnaise yum. Yeah. we're just so good. I can't wait to come back next time. Okay. Too bad, I'm meeting it okay. Alright, Naomi if you wanna go ahead and jump in and we'll go ahead and introduce you while we eat and just talk about and then here guys, I got an air Americano and then a lemonade right here. Alright so while while she gets set up we I guess we can go ahead and start eating Rebecca Hey, which one are you gonna eat that one you need that one first well, I don't have anything else to okay. So guys another reason why Rebecca's helping is because I cannot hi Naomi. Hello. Hello. I guess the other one is just open. hi Naomi. Can you hear us it made it? Yeah. you made it cool. So this is my friend perspective Combo actually what was that this is my first zoom combo ever. Yeah. You did it so this is my friend. Rebecca. She's helping me eat because I'd I don't eat steak and so Becca she's she's awesome. Is it called mistakable. Yes. Okay. got it. I got it so yeah. so we just wanted to say thank you for coming on Nail me. I mean during these hard times. a lot of restaurants have been hit locally in LA and so we started a series called the Milk Bank series just to bring more visibility and exposure to the local restaurants and so yeah. We started yeah yesterday we started with coffee MCO and then today I actually yesterday I had posted. Hey guys give me some suggestions for local mom and pop restaurants and then I think your restaurant came up like second or third and I was like, okay. Yeah, I was like, Oh I actually remember going there like two years ago when I had actually helped out another friend run for Congress, Kenneth Mejia and so we had organized at your restaurant a few times there but but yeah, thanks. So much for coming on so tell us how how did your restaurant come out to be and how did it start? Oh wow. So I was a pastry chef for a decade at least and that there was the third wave coffee explosion okay and launching pastry programs for these coffee companies became my niche and I thought the margins and I saw like the enormous growth. Of every coffee bar that I consulted for and I decided to go off on my own. Yeah and what you want and what year was at so it wasn't the works for at least a couple of years from conception to actually being an operation and we opened on May tenth 2018. Okay. So we probably organized at your restaurant right after it opened. Okay. Okay. Wow. That's. Very cool. so how is it been? I mean before we get to like the whole Covid- 19 crisis? How is it been during your past two years like with the community and how was the restaurant been doing? Oh? yeah, it's been fun. It's been more than I ever jumped it to be just serving the community and that's you know. one of my motivations for staying open during this crisis is just to be a constant for our micro universe here our microcosm and Just just being here and being being that being a little bit of normal, see that people might be longing for. I mean you you probably have a lot of regulars and have those regular spins able to support you like during this time of quarantine. Yeah. thank you Rock and as well as other other restaurants in the area like wound and parks fine. Valerie's that's important that would be a good restaurant for you to head up. Oh I've actually been to how supports Rebecca how support is really good too. That's important. That's right. Yeah. She's just she's brilliant. She's so inspiring. she's amazing. Yeah. I can't. I can't say enough about that woman. Yeah, it's actually surprising that in that will not surprising, but a lot of us assume that because the district is called historic Filipino town that there's only Filipino food. I know that I know that's Super ignorant, but a lot of people kinda tend to think that but if you were to actually do go on a food hunt like for foodies, there's a lot of great restaurants like what's important and and doubting Thomas and so this good exposure during this time for people to explore that neighborhood as well. now did they move in After you guys moved in? Yes, I think they opened probably a year after we opened okay. Got it so then do you guys have like this camaraderie between the different local business owners there in that area and we met we met about maybe a month and a half ago. Okay. yeah we meet from time to time we extreme ideas. We collaborate yeah, they're they're an amazing resource for me. I consider them to be. HM. Yeah. yeah. and I think you had mentioned earlier when I was talking to just kind of briefly in a conversation. what. Your staff members was also a consultant at the restaurant that we had interviewed yesterday off you can salted she launched and compose the menu for coffee and CEO. That's so cool. He was our first chef to cuisine. She's immensely talented. She, you know we still we still talk and visit with each other. Yeah. She's amazing. Yeah. man. What's what's funny? is we had no. Idea of that connection, but yet you you naturally became the second restaurant. Yeah cuz not because of our pick. But yeah, because other users were suggesting different restaurants and that's so cool how that worked out like that. Yeah. It's a tiny world, but yeah, so we're eating before we go into the impact that your restaurant has gone through. So I'm meeting this veggie Rice Bowl has this been there from the beginning. It seems like it's like a veggie version of the dish that Rebecca's eating is that correct. Yes. Yeah for the vegetarians out there. Yeah. Cool. Awesome. Rebecca. How's your. It's so good, I like said, I don't like almost halfway done or more than halfway done, but I really like the like that. there's a good amount of vegetables so it makes me feel better about you know eating steak and well, I think they mistake but it's it's really good and I like the there's coach John in it. It's not yeah. It's really interesting mixture. So I'm like stuck in. Right now, Yeah, was it so good. Naomi. I wish you. I mean you have your food every day that you can eat, but what are some of your classic favorites on the menu or what are your customers favorites? I'm a patient chef. that's my background. Okay. naturally, it's our like our morning fans everything that are actually our natural love on has has touched. I've used our natural lavan in our croissant for complexity of flavor and. In the rise, as well, like when you work for it with a natural a natural ease, you never know what's gonna happen so I I really love the unpredictability of how it rises and how it shapes and forms and how it taste. Yeah. it's it's it's it's wild. You know the smell of it. It's so aromatic. oh dang I should order it. Yeah. My apologies I'll order it next time. There's another reason for me to go back. Yeah. Yeah. we can always go back after this quarantine is done and then my last I still wanna continue eating this one and then this is also a breakfast item right. It's the stitch breakfast English. It's a sausage we make in House Okay. There's there's maybe like 12 ingredients in the sausage itself. Oh being there's of course there's stage. Time Growth Marry Chili Bowl a little homemade Brown sugar yeah and a little yeah, a lot of well actually a lot of black pepper. so it's it has a nice peppery punch. Oh my gosh. I can't wait warm egg tossed Gala and our hand with mayonnaise. Oh okay. That's amazing. Yeah and our homemade bisch. Okay. Yeah. this biscuit looks amazing. I love Biscuit. I'm just gonna do one quick bite and then I'll continue talking. Mmm oh my God. I'm so sorry Rebecca that I have this and you're you don't just get it for me next time and I and I really wanna cry. I saw that breakfast burritos. that was a hard decision to choose between. Oh yeah and you also have I feel like you're very conscious of your customers like you have a veggie version. You have a meat version like with the burritos. There's a veggie burrito. Then there's the meat one and like that's what we're adding to our vegan repertoire. We have an open bar. That's vegan our Angelina, which is one of my favorite sandwiches, is vegan as well. Okay. That's so cool or our homemade sprouted bread. it has a a rome's Co regula avocado heirloom tomato water. Okay. Yeah. and I know I think I ate it. Oh no. it's right here. so I noticed the flower is what what is this? It's a cilantro blossom. Oh when they're in season, I sweep them up from the farmers market. Oh the local farmers This one is from it is the crack form. Oh, it's so fun to have a eat flowers. Yeah. Yeah it taste like cilantro. That's good. Oh my gosh. the egg was perfect. now me isn't it Whoo. I love her eggs egg was so perfect. So then with this carrot cake is this something that you baked them? Yes sweet. Oh as some fresh. Graded dirt and look at that little flower, huh. Give it some spice. Okay. I'm gonna go ahead and try this. I don't mind mixing savory and sweet. so I'll go ahead and try it. I'm gonna go do a lot of yoga after this Naomi at home in front of my TV. Oh, Sorry guys. Oh my gosh, I can feel all the different ingredients in there. Oh, that is definitely as a Super natural carrot cake right there. Oh yeah. It's really good. Okay. Why did why didn't I buy like a bunch of pastries as well? Alright lots of regrets lots of regrets but but yeah. so now me during this time I mean ever since like if you could walk us through how your restaurant has been ever since California was hit with Kobe 19, I know the mayor and governor had put out their more stringent order last Thursday, but even before that they had put out the order. I think it was on Sunday night before that. About us about non essential businesses not being able to operate how is that been for you since since that time, if you could walk us through that, so it was pretty shocking on Sunday night. when I heard Mayor Garcetti announcement that restaurants can only serve strictly take away that morning, I woke up and I called an emergency meeting with my staff cuz that was I knew it was gonna change everything and and I just had to tell them in our meeting that they couldn't rely on their shifts. North tips any longer and that was probably the most difficult thing I've ever had to do. I actually broke down and cried it it. It was just hard. you know because the like the first thought that came to my mind was our dishwasher. He worked two jobs and his second job is at a bar and he you know why when that was announced, he lost his his other job and he had to just he had to rely on. you know shifts from doubting Thomas and I thought of that, and I thought of the others that rely that are living hand to mouth and I think you know in in crisis like this just a dysfunctions of a community become magnified and there are way too many people in our city, a living from paycheck to paycheck and yeah, my hearts go out to them, especially the ones that got laid off there. There's so many of us that are so many people right now that are unemployed and I. Really hope that you know those those people that we voted for an office step up and take care of us. Yeah soon as possible. Yeah, I mean it's it's crazy because I mean they say statistics wise about 70 - eight percent of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, not having funds more than 400 $500 if an emergency happens and I think you nailed it on the dot like a crisis like this show all every single. Area where we lack of preparedness as a government like whether be on the federal state or local level and who who feels the greatest impact of all of that, it's us and so, and that's the thing that it's it's really saddening to see where our governments actually haven't been able to assist you guys directly. let I mean do you feel like you've received assistance or attention from the government as a as up to now nailin' me during this 30 either there are you know there there is a. Lining in all of this, I think the camaraderie in our industry has grown and we've been calling Emailing tagging our leaders and I think I think we're being heard because you know part of the the agreement and in DC was that you know they're there would be assistance for a small businesses. So I'm hoping I'm really hoping that we're being heard yeah, but it's it's. Only said it's very scary because that wealth gap is just growing. Yeah. Yeah. and and I'm sure like with even the announcement and the emergency meeting you had with your staff and telling them that tips wouldn't be able to be earned and whatnot. I mean that's not something that you've ever done before too. yeah. So yeah, it's it's all very shocking. I think that day I was so shocked and every and that Wednesday when I went to the farmers market like every chef that I looked at, they literally look shell shocked like you know they had. They had no experience the bomb exploded something you know we all look like Zombies. Yeah, it's so is your is the staff right now is it smaller because there had to have been some layoffs or is it the same. I mean, obviously there's reduced hours and you're probably as owners trying to accommodate as much as possible because but then there's only so much that you can do to be honest after operating Valentin crew. yeah, there's basically and also. You know there's safety concerns for my staff as well. I don't want too many people in the kitchen and so there's one person in the kitchen. I'm the one that breaks them sends them on their breaks. there's one person one Baker and then one dishwasher. So there's a lot of space and you know and a lot of room to be like sanitizing washing her hands like I do. I do not want people to close together. I want people to be you know practicing the safety guidelines you know. Yeah, that's that's really good to know that that you're doing that at your restaurant because I think a lot of people when they hear this, they're for them. It's like Oh, I wonder how the restaurants are doing with their safety precautions are they following similar ones or they just just continuing to operate as they have been. But that's very. I mean what you're doing is I mean it makes us feel better too not just for the sake of our eating our own foods, but for you guys and your your welfare and your safety as well. And so that's that's great to know that you're practicing those same questions as well. It's really important. this virus is very resilient and that it stays on surfaces for days. so it's important for us to be constantly sanitizing. You know wiping down sanitizing door handle services every 10 minutes often not only washing hands but changing gloves. yeah, I mean it's interesting how tactic this has been on on the environment with all the tick boxes and the gloves that are being used. but at the same time when you look outside, it's like the 19 fifties I've never seen a clear sky you know so. The pool this whole experience is is overwhelming and interesting and full of lessons for sure. Yeah, I mean that and that's something good to know because I mean like you said the virus still lives on services and so even with Rebecca and I like we we emptied out our cardboard boxes. I mean it's although you guys, it's probably clean but we just have this habit now where if we do get to go boxes, we empty it into the plate first and then we go wash our hands and like exactly because. That's the way to do it. Yeah. So so that's good to know. are there any ways that those who are watching can can help I mean whether be probably sharing this video. If you guys are watching this, please share on your own social media profiles. go ahead and give more exposure to doubting Thomas we'll probably go to Pups and porch next but but please share this video. Let people know that yeah. it's it's really important to go ahead and eat at home and obviously always. At home during this crisis, but then also thinking of our local businesses. if you have the ability to go ahead and order take out and delivery, go ahead and do so so so nail me what where can they go ahead and order your food? We're on caviar now, but the best way to order to support us is to order from us directly and all of the platforms. they're great. they definitely serve their purpose and delivering straight to your home but in order to support us directly. without us taking a cut is for you to you know physically swing by and order your food directly from us. Yeah yeah. and it seemed like there was I easily found Street parking there. so it's not it's not that hard and difficult to just drive out. I think you guys were like seven minutes away from me. so that's good to know. so yeah. there's no traffic. Yes. but what is your website? Naomi It's WWW. Doubting Thomas dot La Okay so WWW dot doubting Thomas La dot com our menu is on there you can order online as well. Okay, got it and then so in terms of no phone order. so no yeah, we don't have a we don't have a phone number. Okay. got it so I didn't lay em on mine. Okay so go to the website. Downing Thomas La dot com. and then do you guys have social media profiles doubting to instant on Instagram were down in Thomas, L A okay. Was that follow us? yes. Follow doubting Thomas E L, A. We better be more followers in so go right now. I'll pause for like three seconds so you can go to your IG so go follow doubting Thomas La and then Naomi I mean, is there any do you have any kind of last minute words and like just for the community or for your restaurant? I mean there's a lot of people kind of watching this and they will be watching this because we'll put out we'll go ahead and publish the. Video on all of our social media profiles as well, but any last words before we go ahead and start closing this up just be good to each other. You know those that those are my last words in our emergency meeting was I just I just wanted to wear them to be kind and good to one other and you know, go love someone right now. Yeah. go. go love someone right now. be loved. Wow. You're you're you have a lot of like golden Nuggets inside of you. like no. at the moment I started talking to you with like putting these golden duck. It's like I love it. I love it. so so guys imagine a great person like this who has so much compassion loving kindness, heart and sympathy and concern for our community, cooking your food and when somebody cooks your food like that, it's like your mom, cooking your food where all of that love is contained in this food. so please go and order like like it filled me up. Rebecca. Did you enjoy your food? Yeah I I obviously yeah. it's full of love right now and I can't wait. I'm so excited to go back and try it, but I had my eye on the burrito. I'm gonna try that. Be happy Thanks Rebecca. Yeah. I wasn't able to eat all of my meals. I don't wanna be rude and like talk with my mouth full but I'm so waiting for to shut this so I can continue eating it all but thank you so much for joining us. Naomi for those of you guys are watching. please go ahead and support your local restaurants cafes if you're able to if you're not then go ahead and share it on your profile, there's there's nothing wrong with that. if you can't financially yet and that's fine just go ahead. Share put out the word that are low. Businesses also need support and then for those of for those of you who are watching you can go to Also David Kim 2020 dot com and go ahead and find out what the latest updates are or go to our social media profiles. David Kim 2020 on Twitter profile. on Instagram where David Kim for Congress and then right now, you're watching it on the Facebook as well but thank you so much. Naomi for joining us and good. Yeah. we'll we'll see you very shortly. Thank you. Bye. Bye. Hi, Rebecca bye guys. so actually guys. Oh. so for tomorrow we will actually be. General Sorry so tomorrow's month bond so we actually have a schedule now guys so just write this down. so we will be doing Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays during this crisis except for this weekend. Instead of Sunday, we'll be doing it on Saturday, which is tomorrow so tomorrow's will be with this amazing Captain restaurant just like copy MCO just like doubting Thomas and it will be. So, yeah, I know right. a couple of you is really good. They have amazing coffee, amazing drinks, amazing dishes so tune in tomorrow. I believe it will be around 12 or one we haven't confirmed the time yet with the owner, but just just check on our Facebook page. see when the latest update and time is in regards to let me just see a comment came through Rebecca really quickly Yes, each establishment must be inclusive for people from all types of backgrounds and whether they have limited restrictions and moving or whether they need assistance in other ways. And so that's something that definitely needs to be done by our city government as well, enforcing that and making that mandatory requirement where even those with disabilities can be able to frequent these restaurants. What this once the crisis ends. So that's a great comment. That's a great. Let's just see if there's any others really quick. Can't seem to read all of the parts here. Oh, I can't tell you yeah, I believe she's asking let's see. A couple of questions one is what is your stance on paid internships. Just one second. What okay you just read it to me. Okay. I'm actually really started the okay there We go what is your stance on paid internships paid internships internships should be paid so I actually operated for those of you who don't know I operated the Hollywood lawyer dot com and it was it started off as me solo practitioner. as a lawyer and at the time I had started it because I realized that there were a lot of. Attorneys ripping off their clients pay and having them pay a thousand dollars an hour. I didn't think that was right, so we set up a boutique legal services law firm for creatives who wanted more affordable legal services and what I did when we hired interns. None of them were unpaid. I paid every single intern at $20 an hour so so my my history also shows for that and that's something that I can definitely vouch for I don't own the Hollywood Lauren. I sold it because now I'm an immigration attorney and that's where my heart and season of life is right now to stop people from being deported and and but but yes, that's a great question. Next one. Okay. What advice the same person Tura. I'm not exactly sure how you cannot see me but it too. what advice would you have for folks about social distancing a cabin feet cabin fever? Social distancing must, of course Yeah, for sure, just like what Naomi said in a restaurant. That's what their practicing as well. I think I think that the questions more about what how I guess, how do you do it? How do you do it like what's your advice for doing it and at the same time? avoid avoiding cabin fever like. Like how do you stay away from people while also, you know not going stir crazy? I think it's going ahead and doing Zoom video calls like this connecting because I think the reason why we live here on this Earth is to connect with each other to connect with your own self. So the first thing is before you start connecting with others. connect with your own self connect. I mean be as these are actually times where we have the ability to go ahead and sit with ourselves to connect with our own hearts to see what's going on because a lot of the times we're always stuck in our thoughts all day like walking zombies. By the end of the day, we haven't really experienced life in the present moment. where even though we're in our houses all day, I might not even realize a holy crap like. Like the animals right there like the the furriness or or like or being able to realize Oh my gosh, there was a book right there that I could have just picked up and read and so or or kind of realizing these moments of introspection of self and and having those moments of silence where you're able to kind of go deep down and and kind of plan your next steps or or think of what you're doing are you in the right season of your life is is what you're doing making impact for yourself for your community and so we never really have. Moments to ourselves, so this is a great moment to go ahead and do that, and then the second thing is connecting with others and so just because you can't physically be with somebody. I'm still connecting with you. Rebecca, right, yeah. And then you can also connect with your other friends over over the phone as well, me I sort of tend to like a variety of phone and video chat. so if you're looking for somebody to connect to that's the way to do it and that's the way to avoid cabin fever. and if you need a breath of fresh air, go ahead and take a walk outside, make sure you're still social distancing and all of that. I would just would also add that it really helps to not only getting the exercise outside, but if you moving your body inside too, so there's like a ton of there's a ton of online fitness streaming platforms that you can find some free some paid, but that's a really great way. Also to just get out that anxiety. you might be feeling. Yeah. There's there's companies like Beachbody. There's with the company you work at open fit open bit, so you guys can also take active. Classes online and and it's not just limited to fitness. There's also educational classes online that you can be in a group setting. I know that my boyfriend he takes coding classes online. He has these coding workshops and groups and so there's there because we have the tech. imagine if this happened a hundred years ago, Rebecca where we have no Internet computer whatnot, that's where Cabin Fever would really be something of a higher risk than I feel what is now, but it's it's I think what it is is just us realizing what opportunities. There are around us to go ahead and engage and to have social interaction and to be able to connect because to a certain extent where we put our focuses is is what becomes our reality but also what's the best part about running for office and what advice would you have for folks who have a passion for politics? So what is the best advice for running for office? I would say. Don't run for office unless your whole body your mind your heart your soul. Your spirit is telling you too because for me two years ago, what I have known, I would be running for office right now No a year ago, Nope but it kind of solely built where and I think I shared this at previous candidate forms or meetings and whatnot, But I'm a person that's really wired for social Justice. so just to kinda give you a small anecdote when I was in law school. I would I made I was just focused on studying and then I heard that our student government was misusing funds and I was like David just concentrate on studying country instead and country and studying, but then that social injustice part of me got so big. I was like fuck this shit like we need a stop people from misusing our funds in our law school and like there's so many areas that need to be fixed and so it wasn't until that last minute that like I sort of threw the towel and then like ran for student body. President became the first non Jewish student body President of my law school but I I would say like the advice is before you decide to run for Congress. Ask yourself if if if that's something that you really wanna do in terms of why are you doing it? I think the wise very important of is it for yourself. If it's for yourself, then don't run is it if it's for a name, then don't run if it's for to get to a certain position or. To a position of stability, then don't run, but if it's truly for running for other people in other communities and people that are suffering and then people who don't have bootstraps to pull themselves up with if it is for other people in other communities because you see injustice in these areas that you're exposed to then yes, go ahead and run for office because we need people like you to go run for office. and so if if that's the case and if that's the fire that's in your heart, then go run for office and then what's the second part of that question. Rebecca. Oh, you're on mute. Yeah. I mean I started beating myself to give you the full table. yeah what's your favorite part about running for office? What's my favorite part about running for office is just meeting people connecting with people because I think that instead of viewing us as different ethnic groups different communities, I think we're all one human race and so to learn more about what other people are going through what their stories are. Yes, We all have similar stories, but we all have different stories as well and to be able to learn from each other because every single person that. Meet whether it be Rebecca whether it be nail me, I treat them as my teacher in life because there's so much to learn and I treat myself as a student in life and so I think that's the greatest thing of just connecting with people that I wouldn't have been able to connect with and hearing their stories and then while hearing their stories being able to plant that seed of hope and inspiration in them so that they can go out and do more in their lane that they were born and destined to for this life. And so that's what I really like and enjoy being part. This in my my number one thing is to allow people to have equal opportunities to pursue whatever they were born for in this life and not to be financially shackled and enslaved for the rest of their life working in toiling as ants everyday without even being able to enjoy a moment of life together and so that's why I'm running and I hope that's those you have similar reasons as to for running. so I don't know if that answers your question, but I think it did so any other questions. Rebecca No, that was it. okay go. Yeah. alright. so go ahead and tune in tomorrow. I think it's 12 or one for our next month. It will be with Copa Vita and yeah, you know we'll see you guys next time. What is that let me know if you need a meat eater? yes, if there are any meat dishes, we'll go ahead and have you eat the meat dishes? Yeah. Alright. we'll take care of you guys. give yourself compassion. give your compassion to others. nail me Said. Go. love someone right now. so go love someone right now. Bye. We love you. David. Bye Love you Rebecca Bye.
