David is a man of integrity and grit. I know—because I've seen him in action and been directly affected forever by his kind heart and passion for this community.

David has nothing to gain by serving ...the public, and the citizens of Clark County would be well-served to do their homework, see what is happening in their local government and get involved. I'm proud to be voting for and supporting David Madore! See More

Very disappointed that not only has Madore been a do-nothing politician who seems to only know about nepotism and GAWD, that he has opened up the county to a lawsuit since he gleefully is ignoring th...e 1st Amendment of this great country. He and his yes-man specifically stated that they are referring to a Christian god.....that is advocating a certain religion and it has also maligned and marginalized non-Christians and non-believers. yes, there are many of us out here. We will not forget the harm Madore and his lap-dog have done to this county come election time. Benton will go as well. See More

MR MADORE is an amazing person who loves God and is a very righteous person who is doing our county a great service! He is honest as well as sifting through the idiocy of the whole political mine fiel...d. He can not only change our county but possibly turn our country around if he was elected as President. He is a very good guy! His integrity is straight and he has made great choices! A better man than I am. See More

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire! The new insert from the Columbian is filled with lies to deceive voters! Not only does Madore do "stupid stuff" on a regular basis, he befriends people like Don Benton and... makes sure Benton has a SECOND tax payer-supported income. Really, David and Don? "Scumbag" indeed. Now we have the D&D boys in addition to the M&M boys. Could that stand for Dumb and Dumber? See More

David is a morally corrupt, self important individual masquerading as a popular politician. He has helped drive away a good portion of the experienced Clark County administrative leadership since his... arrival, even driving a fellow commissioner to leave early. His "county leadership" methods are divisive, destructive and ethically questionable. He regularly bans contributors to this public page for having dissenting opinions. State law forbids the exclusion of appropriate public comment from a public forum by an elected official. See More

David Madore has kept all of his campaign promises. That is very rare for elected officials. Free entrance to the people's parks; the transparency project-making all meetings and documents public on... line; including C-Tran and RTC meetings; Parting with the City of Vancouver to manage our own Parks better & saving taxpayers $400,000; Helping Wineries to be successful; working diligently with budget office to identify savings in order to hire more deputies; waiving all fees for developers (job creators) resulting in record numbers; taking a 20% cut in his Commissioners salary to "lead by example"; withdrawing all support for the CRC light rail tolling- generational debt bomb while exploring other third bridge options; working to combine departments and saving $$. Advocating for the streamling of the permiting process, saving citizens time and money; being the hardest working County Commissioner we have seen and so much more. I am also grateful for Commissioner Tom Mielke's help on these great improvements to our County Government. Bravo Commissioners Madore and Mielke. See More

What an echo chamber. Only comments that regurgitate the same rhetoric that are in the posts. Could be an opportunity for good constructive dialog...but I really don't believe that is the intent here.

I really appreciate David Madore's work to make Clark County Government transparent and responsive to the people. The new liberal majority - some of whom apparently abused the republican brand to acq...uire their office - seems to have contempt for the people and their advisory votes, and their property rights.

Thank you David Madore for defending the citizens of Clark County from corrupt and abusive governent.

I dont agree with David Madore on everything...nor do I expect to. That being said I find that the C3G2 folks are some of the worst wastes of space this county has to offer and if my choice is between... Mr. Madore and the Hate Group C3G2, then Mr. Madore winds hands down each and everytime. See More

David is truly a servant of the people. He is a rarity among elected officials who actual listen to the voters and keeps them in mind in all he does. I wish we had more like him representing us.

C-Tran CRC TriMet Light Rail scandal - becoming more bizarre Something peculiar was captured on a 47 second video the night of the fateful 5:4 vote to sign the CRC TriMet Light Rail contract. Before the Board authorized C-Tran to “negotiate and enter into an agreement” with TriMet, C-Tran CEO Jeff Hamm holds up a document that he says was “a new agreement that we’ve executed that we do have here”. (attached September 26 video) What had just happened? Here’s what happened according to C-Tran Attorney Tom Wolfendale: “The contract was here that evening. Its existence was revealed to the board. Mr. Hamm mentioned it at least twice and held it up during his presentation along with the resolution.” That executed agreement was the TriMet contract that we had not yet authorized to be executed? The minutes say something else: “Legal Counsel Wolfendale stated Executive Director/CEO Hamm advised he had copies of the agreement available for Board review at least twice.” (Page 92 of minutes, 4th paragraph from bottom) On Tuesday, December 10, the Board defeated a motion to correct the error in the minutes so they would state the actual quote. That one sentence correction was debated for 20 minutes in an attempt to record a different history, one that excludes the statement that the agreement was already executed and instead leads people to believe that the Board chose not to review the contract that was made available beforehand. We understood that Hamm was not presenting a contract, but was presenting a document to serve as a guide for negotiations. If Hamm had already finished negotiating the contract, he should have presented the contract to the board. That would have included the $5 million liquidated damages clause that would make it irreversible. Wolfendale cannot truthfully claim that Board members believed that the executed agreement Hamm held up was the contract because we had not yet voted to authorize him to “negotiate and enter into an agreement”. It would also be illogical for Hamm to present a document to guide a future process instead of the already executed contract. Execute definition: “To complete; to make; to sign; to perform; to do; to carry out according to its terms; to fulfill the command or purpose of. To perform all necessary formalities, as to make and sign a contract, or sign and deliver a note.” The Board also voted this week to protect 245 C-Tran CRC Light Rail records from being released to Senator Ann Rivers in response to her public records request. This is not open government that records the unadulterated truth, welcomes sunlight and scrutiny and earns our trust. The five C-Tran Board members, Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt, Vancouver Council members Larry Smith and Bart Hansen, County Commissioner Steve Stuart, La Center Mayor Jim Irish and Ridgefield Mayor Ron Onslow keep pushing the CRC Light Rail project using these kinds of tactics even after more than 68% of the voters in Clark County just voted to oppose Light Rail. As a C-Tran Board member, I wonder what can explain such bizarre behavior. Please share and make sure our community knows what is going on here.
If the government ran Les Schwab Tire Centers: This “make-work” process demonstrates why government should do only what private business cannot do better. C-Tran designed the building and the process and has operated it this way for 16 years. Rather than investing less than 10% of the $8.5 million of uncommitted completely flexible cash reserves that C-Tran already has in addition to the tens of millions in total cash reserves in the bank, C-Tran created this video for the board as proof that they need $53 million more in cash for a new BRT system to fix this problem. We should: A) approve the additional $53 million for more smart solutions. B) stop all new funding and order LEAN process management. Is this an IQ test? The presentation and our response to it can be viewed in its entirety about 2/3 of the way through the following video:

What happens when leftists (big government tax and spend liberals) control state government?

When tax revenue increases by billions, is it ever enough?

One of today’s stories covers the county once again charging citizens a fee each time they use their already-paid-for county parks that they already pay taxes to use.

The story does not cover the cost to taxpayers to pay fee collectors, accounting staff, management staff, and auditing staff to collect, process, account, manage, and audit $3 fees. The average county employee costs taxpayers more than $200,000 per year wages and benefits.

Hint: It's a net loss for taxpayers and park users.

Why I stepped up – to get Clark County working again.

Mission accomplished. Here’s the result. Our county's job growth went from the slowest to fastest of the 39 counties in our state from 2013 – 2016. The flywheel momentum will carry us for a while as new construction continues on projects started before the county reinstated huge fees for job creators in January.

Compare our performance in the economic race against Portland Metro, Oregon, Washington, and the US as we chos...e to unleashed free enterprise here at home during my tenure.

Clark County: 4.5%
Washington: 2.6%
Oregon: 2.6%
Portland Metro: 2.0%
Nationally: 1.5%

Clark County added 6,900 jobs in the last 12 months.
Construction & Resources: +1,100, 10.0%
Professional & Business services: +1,300 jobs, 7.0%
Financial services: +500 jobs, 6.3%
Manufacturing: +400 jobs, 3.1%
Trade, Transportation & Utilities: +1,000 jobs, 3.5%
Education & Health services: +1,100 jobs, 4.5%
Leisure & Hospitality: +500 jobs, 3.4%
Other Services: +300 jobs, 5.4%
Government: +700 jobs, 2.8%

Our unemployment rate was 6.0% (a historic low) as more people enter the workforce.

If your brain works like mine, you subscribe to reality that connect the dots of cause and effect. The evidence confirms or refutes our beliefs. For me, that’s the real world we live in.

Others explain such results as mysterious luck because it conflicts with their political ideology. Such views govern an alternate universe.

How do you connect the dots?

My Good BILL of the week: HB 1222. In case our local FAKE NEWS organization mis-quotes me, I'd like to publish my position in its entirety here on FB. This wee...k, I introduced House Bill 1222, creating a bi-state bridge legislative work group. I'm linking the bill below this statement.

Addressing new cross river solutions to improve freight mobility and relieve traffic congestion remains a top priority. In many recent conversations with Oregon state legislators, it is clear they want a process, not a project. I agree with them. Nothing will be built across the Columbia River until Oregon and Washington legislators sit down, eyeball to eyeball across the table to discuss and come to agreement on affordable solutions that our citizens will support. House Bill 1222 is an action bill that achieves this.

HB 1222 is even better than the 2016 version that passed out of the House Transportation Committee with a unanimous vote. While the new version keeps the committee to eight legislators from each state with an equal number of Democrats and Republicans, it directs the legislative work group to address not just the I-5 corridor, but to also identify new corridors and develop a 10-year plan, 25-year plan and 50-year plan.

Giving up has never been an option. I will support this effort or any other similar bill offered by other legislators so long as it achieves stated objectives to improve freight mobility and relieve congestion with affordable options.…/Bills/House%20Bills/1222.pdf

This 19-minute incredible inaugural speech by President Trump launches America’s potential to prosper and thrive as a united nation.

Here are just a few excerpts from the many concise action commitments that started with two humble words: "Thank you."

We will rebuild our country. We will get the job done.

Today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another. But we are transferring the power from Washington DC and giving it back to you, the people.

We will build new roads, highways, bridges, airports, tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation.

We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.

We are protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God.

We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action, constantly complaining, but never doing anything about it. Our country will thrive and prosper again.

--- end of excerpts ---

Please pray daily for President Trump and his administration. His success is our success as a united nation.

One man. 738 bills. 39 minutes. Spectacular speed-reading.

A summary of all new bills must be read aloud at the beginning of each session. It's a quirk in Oregon's legislative procedure that's incredible to watch.

Other countries are doing amazing things. It’s time America takes the lead!

Clark County can easily build a 3rd and 4th toll-free bridge. All it takes is vision and leadership.

We can get ready for the trillion dollars in federal funds to build new highways and bridges for our future. Clark County citizens voted multiple times against foolishly expensive and corrupt Light Rail funded by tolls.

Citizens county-wide said yes to build new toll-free bridges. Say no again to the CRC Light Rail Tolling train boondoggle falsely rebranded as a "Bridge Replacement". Our future is not a 20th century train funded by tolls while we sit in gridlocked trafftic congestion.

Our future is freely moving our economy forward with freight highways and transportation freedom with a new 3rd and 4th toll-free bridge.

We can do it!
