Finally, we are having some weather that is not stinking hot. A great day for lunch outside. We are having Potato Salad. This is my all time favourite Thermomix Potato Salad recipe. https://www.recipecommunity.com.au/…/h4yk7p29-44ebd-817396-…
Well I purchased my TM 31, in November 2012.
Today, just when I am about to do the back to school cooking the bearings on the blades say "no more". Bugger.
To replace it costs $115.00. I'm not complaining, it has had pretty much daily or every other daily use throughout this time. It has also moved house three times. I guess, I can give it that....
Just thought I would post as this is also a consideration when purchasing the machine, what are the ongoing costs going to be like. Have a great day.
It has been a very long time since I posted. Life sometimes just takes over. I still use Thermie every day; Heston too (TM5) and as much as I might get shot. I actually like Thermie (TM31) better than Heston!
Oh, and I haven't been burnt by Thermie or Heston. The oven however, is another story!
Spaghetti Carbonara - I used the recipe chip for this one. Although, I tweaked the recipe adding carrot, zuchini and mushrooms.
I've seen people saying that when they use guided cooking - its not cooked etc. To that I say, what do you do if you are using an oven and something isn't cooked. Cook it a bit longer.
Heston is the same. Guided cooking is not you must do. Rather, this is the base do what you like....
As I added veggies, straight after the onions, I extended the sauteing time by 2 minutes.
I continue to be unwell and hubby continues to do the Easter cooking. I think he used both Thermie & Heston to make these. They don't have the polished look but they taste fantastic and are light and fluffy. Recipe in comments.
As some of you would be aware I have a disabled daughter. In my opinion Thermie/heston is brilliant for people with disabilities.
I am currently preparing a document on the benefits of Thermomix's for those with disabilities? Can you think of any benefits/disadvantages ? And would you like me to post the document when I have finished it?
Proof I am a mere person - no cook would go for such poor presentation but I don't really care.
A friend of my husband, asked for some Good Friday food ideas. This is mine Garlic, Scallop & Prawn Risotto. (Steamed veggies are on the side)
So I have worked out a problem with owning a Thermie. You go from; that takes to long, that is to hard, to complicated to ... oh I can do that, it is so quick and easy, oh but look I can do this as well, oh this one too and this one. Must learn you can't cook everything, in one day, no matter how great the recipes are.
A friend made the comment that Thermie cooking, is not normal cooking. You have “outlandish” meals. So this is my answer. Chicken Schnitzel and veggies. There was nothing wrong with the Schnizel but I felt it was lacking in flavour. When I make it again I shall use a bunch of herbs. Recipe in comments.
