Team paged by Holyhead CGOC along with Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team to reports of a person and dog stuck in mud near Eg...remont, Wallasey.
Whilst Team were on route we received a radio call from CGOC to confirm person and dog had been recovered from the mud by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and to stand down.
After a precautionary check by North West Ambulance Service, the female and her dog were able to make their way home, slightly muddy, but luckily uninjured.
Marine Fire One and New Brighton RNLI Lifeboat Station were also on scene as safety cover due to the incoming tide.
We would advise anyone visiting Wirral's coastline to be extra cautious on the beach, especially around areas of soft mud.
If you do get stuck in the mud, try and sit down to spread your weight to prevent you sinking any further. If you have a mobile phone, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. If you don't have a phone, attract attention by shouting help and waving your arms and get someone to call the Coastguard for you but discourage them from trying to rescue you so they don't get stuck too!
If you see anyone in difficulty on the Coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
