The measure of how all off-road races should be formulated.
Hats off to my buddy Dave Cole and his King of The Hammers race and week, or so, of off road porn. HammerTown is legit.
Dave invited me in 2007 to “drive” a celeb vehicle and although I ended up navigating for Brad Lovell I had a great time. I have gone back to support Dave and his vision every time I’ve been able too over the last decade....
It was an honor to remember Chad Ragland this am on the show. The show was a solid live live effort with I think 23 live cameras including a chopper, multiple cable cams, a couple Jumbotrons, over 1.4 million viewers and guessing 50k off roaders sitting in the dirt.
Be safe everyone
King of The Hammers live all day today for those interested in a really solid race. I hear 23 live camera locations and live from the Heli.
RJ and James Robert Holthus with me on the mic today.
This shot is of our long time friend Dan Fresh and his wife Shelly after Dan and the Savvy team won the Smittybilt Everyman Challenge in the FOX sponsored rig....

The team at Baja HQ have been getting the ball rolling and have some fun Baja lover style shirts available in their web store.
As a part of the Baja HQ I’m stoked to find more ways to spend time in and sharing Baja. Give the HQ page a like and we’ll all have some fun together.
More info to come on what Baja HQ is, what they will be doing and what my part of the fun will be....
51 seconds out of 3rd, 15 seconds out of 4th......daaaang....
The 6164 of Bob PeCoy and Mike Craft in the DA 6100 just missed the win and last we heard are 2nd out of over 40 trucks. No flats or issues at all! They were also top 10 at the Baja 1000 in TT.
The problem for the #6 was the hanging dust and slower but fast vehicles we were passing or trying to pass for position. We battled through the dust of the winning buggy like 4 times, almost close enough to “lock on”. At the finish CJ, who I like, said man we had to step it up every time you got close.....argh.
We got the brakes hot trying to get by the buggy and there was NO WIND. A couple times it felt like we were back in the 3 hours of Constitution fog....not really but that was the level of the dust hanging.
Sourapas Motorsports jefe Steve, aka Beerman, was on point and qualified well and picked up a bunch of spots driving the first half. He and his boys Christian Sourapas and Brett Sourapas all haul the mail and their team came away with 2 top 5’s as Brett and Beau claimed the 2nd position in the Coors Light #88! Good work team!
Thanks to everyone that helped and supports the efforts of the DA and Sourapas Motorsports.
Congrats to Andy McMillin and his team on their win.
3pm today Pacific time is the premiere of the BFGoodrich 50 Best of Baja on CBS Sports.
Share the fun and spread the love. Thanks to the people of Baja and everyone involved especially producer Neil Goss, editor Phil Long and Post Production Inc. with Chris Vorhies....
Hope you enjoy it!
This is our “Witch Doctor”!
Dr Dave has magic hands and after years of a “muscle strain” in my upper back and 6 years of my biggest teammates trying to put an elbow in deep enough to break it up....not to mention years of conventional chiropractic....DrDave Jensen put my upper ribs back in place after one feel of my upper back....in a bar....
Dang I wish I lived closer to Aspen! I could do Dr Dave’s treatments and stop in at Jimmy's An American Restaurant and Bar!
Some of you know we ARE going to CO in August.....yeiiiiii!
With massive respect we join the off-road community in bidding farewell today to the always smiling Chad Ragland.
As an off-road racer you get to meet a lot of great people and although I can’t claim to have known Chad really well I can tell you I had a great respect for him. I think his racing ability and the entrepreneur go for it attitude were great but what I think was exceptional was his respect for all and the fact that even if we hadn’t spoken much we could have a ver...y solid and well thought out conversation.
I announced KOH with Chad and over those hours I got to really see his commitment and energy. Everyone that wanted a to say hi and talk to Chad he engaged with, even if he was on the microphone, ha ha.
Smile frequently, love big and do the things you want, especially with family as you just never know.
God bless his family and hugs all around from ours. The Steele’s, the Desert Assassins and our entire community are just devastated to the core waking to this terrible news this am.
God Speed Chad, take them deep and laugh a little when you are teaching them how to blast the sand turns. We’ll all miss you here.

Lists were compiled by Curt Leduc a Baja 1000 winner and member of the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame along with Jackson Motorsports Group icon Frank DeAngelo. 5-Time SCORE In...ternational Baja 1000 winner Ryan Thomas and 11-time winner Johnny Campbell from JCR/Honda and Honda Motorcycles & ATVs. Moto legends Bill Nichols and Jimmy Sones know more about Baja than anyone and helped out on this as did the DA's Cody Stuart and PAB.
We hope you love it and we love to interact with your comments so please let's have some fun. Adventuring and moto riding is dangerous so probably better to not do it.........
