Meet the Artist at Globe Arts this Saturday...
Meet the Artist, this Saturday. Another chance to meet local artist Sylvi Gibbs, and see her wonderful exhibition, "The Mill Next Door". Sylvi will be in the Globe Gallery, 10.30–12.30 and 1.30–3.30.
We really are delighted with how well received this exhibition has been!
A few pics from the screen printing workshop I ran at West Yorkshire Print Workshop a couple of weekends ago (experimental screen printing with paper stencils). It's a great technique for creating artwork quickly and works well as an introduction to screen printing. It was good to see people catching the screen printing bug!
As well as Otso's clothing range, you can also browse art, prints and cards by some of the other Globe studio holders.
Come along and browse Otso's clothing range - tees, hoodies, beanies, sweaters + prints and key rings.
I'll have a selection of screenprints and cards in the gallery too, and I'll be in my studio for most of the day, if anyone wants to pop in and say hello!
Did you know we have a small gallery and art shop? We've beautiful cards, artwork, art kits and materials on sale at the Studio...
Pop in, say Hello, have a browse and maybe buy "just a card" and support our independent art school and shop - every sale is valued and vital.
I'll be opening my studio on Saturday 25th November for Globe Arts Studio Christmas Handmade Arts & Craft Fair (11am-7pm). Should be a fun day - it's Christmas lights switch on in Slaithwaite, so there'll be lot's going on around the village.
Day 19... in our countdown to our Christmas Handmade Arts & Craft Fair and it's our pleasure to introduce Dan Booth of DesignArtNonsense and resident artist in ...Studio 8 and Howard Asher Designs...
DON'T FORGET OUR PRIZE DRAW... Be Interested/Going to our Event and Share it for a chance to win our £50 gift voucher.
Dan is a printmaker who produces limited edition screen prints of the places and scenes that move and inspire him. He has developed his own unique style, which has been described as looking ‘Instagrammy’ – he predominantly works in a square format, with imagery starting life as digital photographs.
Dan also creates abstract screen prints inspired by Op Art and minimal graphic design.
A passion for exploring colour and composition is the common theme that links Dan’s different styles of work.
Howard Asher had a long career as a free-lance Textile Designer. He says "I am now creating paintings using acrylics and mixed media inspired by my love of colour and pattern. Along with my paintings, I will be showing greeting cards and woven baskets"
