Support please. There are some serious implications here if this SDP is not funded for another two years.

Urge Congress to oppose any continuing resolution that fails to fund critical type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and life-changing technologies, and instead bring to the floor a bill that includes a two-year renewal of the Special Diabetes Program.

I finally got the Diabetic Stress Relief site back up and running on another domain. Now simply called Stress Relief Videos. I'm still focused on stress and how it relates to diabetes, but these videos will relieve anyone's stress at the moment. Hope you all enjoy! The album is still out on Bandcamp for free, so go grab it if you have not. I'm also working on a new album as well.

Some sad new in the Diabetes Online Community today. Long time advocate and writer/photographer/blogger Dave Mendosa has been diagnosed with terminal incurable cancer with around 3 months to live. Here is his goodbye in his latest newsletter. You can visit and follow his story out on Caring Bridge. There is a link to that in his newsletter. Thank you for all that you've done Dave. You've been a wellspring of information for me since my diagnosis and I am forever grateful. You've touched more lives that you probably even realize. Peace and safe journey to you. #DOC #diabetes #cancersucks

This is the final issue of this newsletter I will write. I started it 17 years ago, but now I have been diagnosed with an incurable cancer. I am glad to be able to write that this type of cancer is not one of the many complications of diabetes.
Diabetic Stress Relief updated their cover photo.

This is a great article. Great humor. I have a lot of friends who say, "Type 1 can be reversed too...." um, no. No cure. Stop listening to Dr. Oz, he's a quack. Read, learn, educate yourself. That is all.

If I'd been born a century ago, I'd probably be dead.

This is pretty big news this morning.

If it works as well in patients as it has in animals, it would amount to a cure, ending the need for frequent insulin injections and blood sugar testing.

Friends with Type 1 Diabetes. Don't know who has heard this story or not. I heard this on new radio this morning. Exciting if it works. This relates to Type 1 only.

BCG works in mice, but will it be just as effective in treating type 1 diabetes in people? An FDA-approved clinical trial of the vaccine aims to find out.

One thing is for sure about indie artists that I know, they all work on an incredible level to keep pushing themselves in the pursuit of their dreams and goals. Focus artist today: Jennifer Thomas Her video for the title track of her album, "Illumination" is stunning. The songs on this album are some of the most beautiful compositions I have ever heard. Take the time for a moment and view the video. Let's help get her above 100,000 views on YouTube.

Sprinkled with Light - Cynthia Zuber

"Jacob, where do you find the strength to carry on in life?"

"Life is often heavy only because we attempt to carry it," said Jacob. "But, I do find a strength i...n the ashes."

"In the ashes?" asked Mr. Gold.

"Yes," said Jacob, with a confirmation that seemed to have traveled a great distance.

"You see, Mr. Gold, each of us is alone. Each of us is in the great darkness of our own ignorance. And, each of us is on a journey.

"In the progress of our journey, we must bend to build a fire for light, and warmth, and food.

"But when our fingers tear at the ground, hoping to find the coals of another's fire, what we often find are the ashes.

"And in these ashes, which will not give us light or warmth, there may be sadness, but there is also testimony.

"Because these ashes tell us that somebody else has been in the night, somebody else has bent to build a fire, and somebody else has carried on.

"And that can be enough, sometimes."
