- I see comments saying that parents wish to hear more from previous s...tudents. Well, I am McCall I left DRG about 2 months ago. I had been there for about 19 months. My journey was long and bumpy. Thanks to this beautiful place i can now say i am a survivor! I fell n love with horses and my great friends that i now call family. It wasn't easy but it was worth it. The reason I loved the ranch so so much is because I met some of the best people in my life there. I met some of my best and greatest friends there. It by no me...ans was easy to be there and it wasn't always happy, but they push you to step out of Ur comfort zone and be a better you. And maybe that's why a lot of people didn't like it there. They weren't ready to change. They weren't ready to grow up and move their life into a better direction.

We're a little late posting this, but wanted to give a shout out to January's Residential Rockstar. Meet Lauren! Lauren's enthusiasm and dedication are experienced by all who interact with her. She is always seeking to learn more, and is often found teaching the girls the importance of structure. We are grateful for Lauren's passion for the work done at Discovery Ranch which is seen in her knowledge of the program and hard work! She's also tough as nails... Congratulations, Lauren!
When new calves arrive on the Ranch, it's a big deal. The announcement spreads and everyone wants to know about colors and markings, how many days old the calves are, and which girls get first choice. It seems like new calves will never get old.
We're looking forward to this Friday's experiential: The girls will be learning about the United States Civil Rights Movement, from the origins of segregation to the philosophy of nonviolence protesting. We'll also be discussing important figures of the Civil Rights Movement and the impact they had on the country.
We hope you'll be able to find a small way to make this Martin Luther King Jr. Day a meaningful one.
