Here is a copy of the contract as approved by The Colorado History Museum in 2011 and the receipt of payment for the event. There's no reason to think any of this was unknown to Dawn or the other museum staff. This document has been highlighted with the violations she is guilty of and the questions raised in doing so.

Update: we are waiting for more documents via CORA request from the Museum to complete an audit of their financials. Thank you all for being patient. We'll provide more details as they become available.

El Pueblo's own committee member Deborah Espinoza and others are admitted attendees. How then can Dawn justify her statement saying no one from the museum was involved in the planning or in attendance?

To people coming on this age demanding to know the identities of the moderators and calling us cowards:

Our faces don't need to be the movement to ensure accountability on behalf of the museum and the Director. Ultimately the face of Pueblo becomes what the people shape it into through their words and actions. In the end, a type of karma occurs where everyone in the community is essentially responsible for what it becomes.

We are members of many pages on here trying to help... make Pueblo better and we are doing all we can to help make a better future for everyone.

How are we now the ones that are doing wrong in this matter? By bringing the information forward and asking for accountability by someone who we all pay for to do a specific job? A job that is supposed to revolve around providing a place everyone feels comfortable entering and learning about local history.

Remember that the Director is not being paid to provide a location that her close friends, family and political cohort can use at a discount, without a contract, and however they desire. This is why she deserves to be terminated.

Puebloans- share this post widely and we will donate $500 to El Pueblo Museum.

We love Pueblo, and we love the El Pueblo Museum. That is why this movement was started by Pueblo citizens – we need to stand up for what is right in the community, and eradicate corruption to ensure Pueblo can continue to grow.

Moderators of the group are being blamed for El Pueblo Museum’s reputation collapsing, but that is not true. We are not responsible for the acts of the administration; but,... we are responsible as citizens of the community to hold them accountable and ensure a museum that has been around for 58 years, is run properly. The director of two years is NOT El Pueblo Museum, but we as a community are Pueblo, and can fix the reputation of the museum and our town.

This fight is not disproportionate to the situation; if we as citizens do not call out corruption and stop it, then we allow the community to suffer. Let us unite, combat the corruption, and Pueblo will prosper. If this post is shared 500 times, the moderators of the group will donate $500 to the El Pueblo Museum when those accountable for the corruption of the museum are held accountable. Let us all stand together as a community, Pueblo!

This recent article from Chieftain again shows obvious bias, omitting to mention that documents released show many conversations occurring by El Pueblo Museum officials where they admit guilt, at one point stating that someone needs to draft an apology letter to all of the State Representatives for the incident.

On top of this, documents show clearly that while a perfectly good contract exists, the El Pueblo Museum Director Dawn Diprince admits openly she didn't use it, and instead she took a reduction in rental fees, and a cash payment, which is also a violation of the agency's existing policies.

This type of nepotism needs to immediately stop and we must restore the integrity of the museum!

Why would Director Dawn Diprince have to be particularly "careful in how we handle our rental customer"?

Did she say this because she knows she was wrong in her behavior? Because she's a member of the same Chicanos Against Trump group (as proven through earlier Facebook screenshots of their page)? Because she knew she didn't follow policy with regard to their contract, rental fee, or access to the building? Because she lied about knowing what was on the event agenda? Because she knew the Pueblo Democratic Party was funding the event?

Let's work together to make sure this isn't the reality for our beloved museum ever again.

The latest Chieftain article is out about the documented policy violations that have occurred at El Pueblo Museum and the title of the piece should be "agenda to shape public opinion and divert attention away from the actual issue".

Shame on you Chieftain! Covering up for those in power doesn't look good on you. We would have expected you to look out for our museums best interest, no such luck apparently.

The story that started it all. This story is what originally informed the people of Pueblo about the Trump Pinata and caused such damage to a beloved local museum. We must do something to ensure this never happens again.

Exactly, and she should be held accountable. We must see the integrity of the museum restored under new leadership.

This statement shows a pattern of behavior and blatant disregard for the rules:
