I absolutely love this program and the opportunities it affords to young women! Both my daughters participated in our local program. One was a local winner; the other a runner up. Both received invalu...able lessons that could only be gained through their involvement.
For the last seven years I have served as local chairperson. This program continues to encourage young women to aspire to be their very best.

Thank you Alabama for this program. What the girls get to experience and learn is invaluable. Meeting and interacting with all the other girls and civic groups are lessons that cant be learned in a c...lassroom and will be lessons they will remember for a lifetime. Also, a big thank you to all the host parents who take their time and open up their home to these young ladies. See More

Distinguished Young Women changed my life in 2011. I found a new family, 50 new sisters, and a support system quite literally the size of the country. I have grown so much since joining this amazing s...isterhood and can only wish the same upon all other young women who find themselves in the program. DYWRI is my family and I will continue to be involved with them until the day they kick me out :) See More

Love being a host family. This is a wonderful organization. Excited about the arrival on Sunday for our young ladies to arrive. One of the pluses for me is I must clean up my house!!! Then sit back and enjoy.

We love all the aspects of our program but we really love it when enduring relationships are made, especially between Distinguished Young Women who meet for the... first time at college. Pictured here are Skye Bork (Washington DC, Class of 2017 and the current Distinguished Young Woman of America) and our Giselle Valdez (La Mesa, Class of 2016). Skye is in her first year at Columbia University in New York City and Giselle is in her second year at Columbia where they have become good friends and recently joined the same sorority. The Power of Distinguished Young Women in action!

Be Involved
Serve your community

Be Studious
Stay in school

Be Ambitious
