Clearly presented factual information from fully qualified medical professionals who are ethical and... prepared to stand up for chidrens rights See More
This is a wonderful organisation. Circ is brutal and ugly.
I have never seen a group of medical professionals as dedicated to upholding human rights as DOC. Ev...en when faced with opposition from the majority of the medical field, DOC's members stand by their beliefs and do the right thing, even when they are penalized by society as a whole. I applaud DOC for their unrelenting efforts against Male Genital Mutilation.

They are some of the nicest, most respectful, most professional people I have ever met in my life. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication to protecting all children from genital mutilation.

A Federal judge has ruled that the federal law against female genital mutilation is unconstitutional, arguing that it is a matter for states to adjudicate, not the federal government. In the sense that a federal law protecting girls does not also give equal protection to boys and intersex children, it certainly could be considered unconstitutional. For a greater understanding of what is going on with this rulling, please see this recent lecture by ethicist Brian Earp, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oV7oADV2kIQ

"What many Americans are not aware of, however, is the fact that the United States is not just unusual, but actually unique among developed nations in finding such widespread medical support for infant male circumcision. This support originated in the late 1800s, when doctors promoted the operation as a “cure” for masturbation; today it comes primarily from doctors’ trade associations — such as the AAP — that protect financial and other interests of physicians who continue to perform such surgeries. Doctors in peer nations, by contrast, along with the medical associations that represent them, tend to see the U.S. circumcision ritual as more of a cultural habit, not something rooted in sound medical science."
