👭 ”enough. is a platform, a meeting point, a stage, an information point, and a place to exchange ideas. We want to shine a light on anti-racist initiatives and resistance to the migration system.
✊🔥 This year, the action days take place for a whole week. From the 6th – 12th September, various groups, initiatives, and projects will share their experience of anti-racist work at ParkPlatz (www.park-platz.org) and other locations in Zurich, Switzerland. There will be workshops, theatre productions, lectures, open discussion groups, and concerts. We want to listen, discuss, exchange, and reflect together – but most importantly, we want to exchange ideas on how to fight racism and the oppressive migration system.”
📢 The representatives of EAST members, Linda Greta Zsiga and Nóra Ugron from Social Housing NOW! and Sasha Hajzler from Infokolpa will have a workshop on Sunday, between 15.30-16.30, with the title "𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬".
🏠 "In 2010 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania 350 Roma people were evicted from the city centre and forcibly moved near the Pata Rât landfills. Right now approximately 1500 people live at less than a kilometer distance from the toxic waste. Not only should the municipality provide adequate social housing for its citizens, but it also mustn’t have moved people to a dangerous and toxic environment. The authorities of Cluj-Napoca, - “the magnet city” or “5-star city” as they call it - have segregated the poor Roma community of Pata Rât at the border of the city, while they are trying to create the image of a vibrant, cultural capital of Transylvania. In this situation one can ask: who has the right to the city and to adequate housing, and how could we fight the institutional racism that has been perpetrating violence through evictions, relocations and segregation? Linda Greta Zsiga and Nóra Ugron, two members of Social Housing Now! movement will briefly talk about housing in Romania and present the more than a decade long fight of the Roma from Pata Rât for anti-racist housing policies, social housing and housing justice.
🚦 The principle of legality/illegality of residence and movement is the foundation of the division of humanity which is executed by border regimes. As a border country of the EU, Slovenia participates in the illegalization of people by implementing restrictive asylum and migration laws and by implementing numerous collective expulsions (pushbacks) to Croatia: from 2018 till now, the Slovenian police carried out more than 26.000 extraditions to Croatia; due to theft and beatings by Croatian police during the pushbacks, most people end up in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from where again they attempt to do "Game" toward the EU. In a situation of generalized segregation, the question remains: how such action is possible and how forms of resistance are being carried out that run counter to existing forms of state racism perpetrated at the borders of the European Union? Sasha Hajzler, member of Infokolpa, Slovenia will talk about contemporary struggles for freedom of movement and autonomy of migration on the Balkanroute."
