TORI BEE'S "EAT THE BABY" BOOTCAMP II
second serving 🍴
This is the 2nd of many Tori Bee's bootcamps, with over 5 years of coaching experience, it will be focusing on one of the most exciting and under-utilised strategies in modern roller derby.
As part of her ongoing mission to see more babies eaten in the name of derby love, this intensive three hour session will include skills and smarts for both jammers and blockers followed by an hours scrimmage to put your new skills to practice.
"Eat the Baby" is when a Jammer switches to defence in order to re-absorb the opposing Jammer back into the pack. Usually by hitting them out and taking them back, or slowing them down enough for the pack to catch up.
Jammers are the only players who can legally block outside the engagement zone, and eat the Baby is a great way to extend your team's defence in order to rack up more scoring passes.
This bootcamp will include skills and smarts for both jammers AND blockers to achieve this strategy;
-footwork and agility,
-one-on-one blocking techniques,
-wall building and teamwork
-awareness and communication,
as well as some similar Jammer on Jammer tricks to give you the unexpected edge over your opponents.
In true Tori Bee style, the bootcamp is set to be heaps of fun, full of derby love and with intricate breakdown of skills, giving individual feedback and new drills to take back to your team.
Right peeps I will be shouting how to get a spot on this awsome boot camp at 10 am saterday! So put it into ur diary!
You will go hungry if you miss out!
