More #athletes are turning #vegan in an effort to help them get one step ahead of their competition. And these are athletes across all types of sport, from 300 ...pound American football players like #DavidCarter to ultra-endurance athletes like #MattFrazier, these guys know that reducing their levels of inflammation, by cutting out meat and whey, is key to supporting a healthy body and creating clean gains.

We're doing our bit to support local #veganathlete Sascha Dubrovo (@saschyd) who is a lightweight rower at Rhodes University and gunning for the Tokyo 2020 #olympics.

But you don't have to be an athlete to benefit from reducing your animal protein intake and going more #plantbased. We can all do with a lot less inflammation in our bodies, seeing as we live with more mental, emotional and environmental stress than any generation before us - all of which cause inflammation and a slew of chronic diseases. Matt Frazier describes his transition best:
_
"I spent a whole year without eating four-legged animals before I took the next step and cut the two-legged animals out of my diet, and then spent a month there before I stopped eating fish," he says. At that point, Frazier found that his speed and endurance were increasing, leading him to shave 10 minutes off his marathon time to ultimately qualify for the Boston Marathon. Over the next two years, he gradually cut out eggs and dairy.
