So that's another Books2Buy event done. What was the coolest thing you found at last weekend's booksale at Capilano Branch?
- The move to bookstore style filing is killing me! When I look up the... call number of a book I should be able to use that number to find the book. I just spent 10 min trying to decide what category it would be under. Even a staff member couldn't help me find it. Poor Mr. Dewey is rolling in his grave. Meer weergeven
Nunki Valiñas5sterI'm so proud of this library, it is an excellent resource of knowledge and fun. They have all kind of programs for any a...ge and comprehenda vast variety of products. From books to magazines, going through movies, console games, music, etc.
I take my kids to the programs (free) and they love them, anything you have in mind, you can find it there.
Also, the online resources are amazing, so much study material, kids books, etc.
We, as a family, profoundlyenjoy EPL.
And I don't want to leave outside the people working there, they are wonderful, helpful and always have a smile for you.
Thanks for all and keep doing it, you make our life better/ Meer weergeven
David J Plamondon5sterThe Edmonton Public Library changed my life. I used to go wander around bookstoresand spend more money than was wise on... more books that I would ever have time to read. Now instead I wander around libraries and check out books that I would never have time to read, but because I eventually have to bring them back, I make myself more accountabl e to reading them!
Also, the EPL has a broad selection of video games and Blu-Rays which lets me stay up to date on expensive digital media as well!
I've had mostly positive experiences with their staff also.
5/5 would recommend this library service. Particularly because they have no competitio n. Meer weergeven

Barbara Paterson is a renowned Edmonton artist whose bronze sculptures are displayed across Canada.
"I gave up my studio and have a smaller studio now at home. My last big one is at the university [of Alberta], and it's called "The Visionaries." It's of Henry Marshall Tory and Alexander Rutherford. In public art, there are so many steps, and each step is enjoyable. You go from making a mini maquette out of wax and clay all the way to having it bronzed and working with the fo...undry."
If you could sculpt anything at all right now, just for yourself?
"I'd like to do a full figure of my grandmother, who was Métis, to honour her. She was a real force. She could do anything." #HoEPL
