Ed Turanchik for Mayor

With the election rapidly fading in the rear view mirror, it's about time to close down the Ed Turanchik for Mayor Facebook page. We will leave it up thru the end of the month for anyone who might like to share any final thoughts about the election and their experiences. Otherwise, I invite you to join me on my personal Facebook page.

By now everyone knows how yesterday's election turned out. Bob Buckhorn, Tampa's next mayor, won a surprisingly lopsided victory over Rose Ferlita. Bob graciously thanked me, Tom Scott, and our volunteers (you!) who helped him over the finish line. Thank you for all that you did to make this happen!

TAMPA — The transition from one mayor to the next has begun.

Tomorrow is election day in Tampa. I urge all registered city of Tampa voters to go to the polls and vote for Bob Buckhorn for Mayor of Tampa. We had a great canvass in south Tampa yesterday with strong results this past Saturday. With your support, Bob will win! REMEMBER, GO VOTE ON TUESDAY, MARCH 22!!!!

Please join me this Saturday to canvass south Tampa for Bob. We will meet at my old campaign headquarters at 705 N. Howard at 9 a.m. It will take just three hours of your time. Three hours for four years of good government. Quite the bargain. Pass the word and see you there.

I was honored to be endorsed by Creative Loafing in the primary, but now that I'm no longer in the running I'm pleased to see that they have endorsed Bob Buckhorn for Mayor. He's now been endorsed by every major publication. Well deserved! Go Bob.

Ferlita's accusation that Buckhorn is a big-government “elitist” is tiresome and invalid. But there are many other reasons why Bob Buckhorn is a better candidate for mayor than Rose Ferlita.

There will be a major fundraiser for Bob tomorrow at Pan Rustica on south MacDill, just south of Bay to Bay. It is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There is a very strong host committee. Please stop by and support Bob's campaign for Mayor.

There is a meeting of the Young Professionals group tonight at the Beck Group offices in The Heights at 5:30 p.m. This meeting is an opportunity to meet Bob Buckhorn, the next mayor of the City of Tampa, and hopefully help him raise a few dollars for the campaign. Beck is located at 220 W. 7th Avenue.

Canvassed Seminole Heights today for and with Bob. Had about two dozen folks show up to cover this Turanchik stronghold for Bob. We had a good response --- lots of Turanchik-turned-Buckhorn votes. We will canvass south Tampa next Saturday --- getting together at my old campaign office at 705 N. Howard ar 9:30 a.m. ---- all are welcome.

Mayor Pam Iorio made a major move today in endorsing Bob Buckhorn for Mayor. Come by The Independent in Seminole Heights this afternoon at 5:30 to congratulate Bob and help him raise some money for the final push.

Mayor Pam Iorio Friday morning endorsed Bob Buckhorn in the race for mayor. Iorio said she had hoped to stay neutral, but a new television ad from Rose Ferlita's campaign that attacks Bob Buckhorn convinced her that she could not. "Staying neutral is no longer an option for me," Iorio said in an ann

Despite the snarky headline, this is good news for Bob Buckhorn. It shows that the great work done by my supporters and our endorsement are making a difference. Go Bob!

The day after the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce released a poll showing Rose Ferlita in the lead, Bob Buckhorn's campaign is celebrating a poll showing just the opposite. Buckhorn leads Ferlita 44 to 38 percent, with 18 percent undecided, according to the telephone survey of 300 likely voters by

I just posted the full statement of my endorsement of Bob Buckhorn for Mayor on my website. I hope that you will take a moment to read it, and hope that you will join me in supporting Bob.

I will be holding a press conference on Monday morning to announce my endorsement in the race for Tampa mayor. When I do so, I expect to take an active role in helping that candidate succeed. When I make this endorsement --- it will be an active one. I hope you will consider joining me and staying e

Tomorrow morning I will announce who I am supporting in the race to become Tampa's next mayor. As soon as we hold the press event, I will post my statement of support here and on my Turanchik for Mayor website.

Thanks to everyone for your generous comments. I will make an endorsement in the runoff on Monday. When I do so, I expect to take an active role in helping that candidate succeed. I hope you will consider joining me, and to stay engaged.

This is the most important thing that I can say. Bless you all.

I want to thank all of you who volunteered, donated and voted in support of my effort to become the next Mayor of Tampa. I believe we had the advantage in vision, ideas and experience, but the disadvantage in time and money.

Thank you, all of you, for your many messages of support and expressions of disappointment. Although the outcome isn't what any of us would have hoped for, it is the nature of politics. I'll have a more complete message coming later. In the mean time, thanks again for all your support.
