Otters - Thank you for helping us propel Go Green @ Edison to new levels this year. We've been recognized as an environmental leader amongst schools at AUSD, but need more volunteers to continue efforts for 2017-18. Lots of easy ways to get involved (in and out of the classroom).
To learn more, please join our next GO GREEN COMMITTEE MTG on Wed, 5/24 at Nob Hill Peet's Coffee Cafe, 6:30-7:30pm or contact Debi Gunders Ryan!!
I hope many of you can attend this great workshop. We are so happy they are coming to Edison to present.
We just need 25 more parents to participate in the AUSD parent survey to meet our goal of 20% of the parents taking it.

We are going to set up a small stage, we are going to have a sound system, an...d we are going to celebrate the Otter Spirit and enhance the Edison Community! We have an incredible parent, Kim Rankin, who does so much for our school. She has volunteered to do even more. She is going to get some friends to help her as part of the Friday Otter Community Celebrations will be singing the Edison Otter song which they will teach and support. In addition, we are going to draw “Otter Cards” from the office jars and recognize one student from each grade level who will be able to get a prize and a nice round of applause. Thanks to the Edison PTA, the fortunate students will be rewarded for their selfless acts, their respectful approach to school, and for their hard work. Please join us from 8:10 am to 8:20 am, each Friday in May to kick off this community celebration!
Bike to School Day is tomorrow! And it's also the second Thursday of the month which means it is Walk and Roll to School Day. Basically, try not to drive to school 😁 And if you have to, park a couple of blocks away and walk the remainder.
Get your hand stamp as you arrive and then head towards the Bike cage. Clif Bar has given us a banner for all walk and rollers to sign. We also have pencils, reflective stickers and zbars to give out.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation week is May 8-12 at Edison!!
Bring a flower for your teacher (and teachers aide, if there is one in your class) on Monday and then check with your room parent to see how you can help with activities the rest of the week.
Don't forget to tell your (kid's) teacher how much you appreciate them!
Join the Edison PTA and other Alameda PTAs as we celebrate riding our bikes! Lots of fun bike activities, including lessons on how to ride without training wheels (registration recommended)!
If you are an Alameda PTA member (any school), we ask that you consider signing up to volunteer -- there are still lots to choose from! Have one parent volunteer while the other hangs out with the kids! https://www.volunteersignup.org/D38W3
