We got the bus back! It was a long 4 days. All 10 students get to go. We will need it for tonight's meeting as we often have over 20 for the Filling Station Meeting.

Elk Mountain Academy is a 12-Step based therapeutic boarding school with an average completion time of one year. Our program utilizes the 12-Step approach developed by Alcoholics Anonymous.

The school is in need of a new bus. I take between 5 and 15 students per day to Sandpoint for the Attitude Adjustment Meeting. Our current Ford Diesel Dually we bought used 5 years ago now has 230,000 miles on it. We need a 4x4 to replace it. Please let us know if you have a line on one. I found a clean Ford F 550 4x4 that seats 25 and has 98,000 miles ( just broken in for a 7.3 diesel) for $19,500. Any discount we get will be considered a donation (EMA is a 501 C 3). Thanks all!

After a long dry spell we now have two new Trustees! Congratulations to Andrew and Matthew This level is something special. Two of our 25 have EARNED it. It wasn't their first attempt, and they made needed changes in order to accomplish this goal. Now other students need to follow suit! These young men did their year, can be counted on to support newer students, complete tasks and help others to do so, have great phone calls home, and can be counted on! Now they can arrange trips to town, going to restaurants and movies without staff, and are #1 on the dirt bike list. They will also be on the first boat ride on the season May 6.

We had 14 (of 25) up and ready for the Attitude Adjustment Meeting! We need a bigger bus! I found a Ford 550 diesel that seats 32 with six wheel drive. It has just over 100,000 miles. All we need is $28,000!

I have 2 weeks a year where I do no sessions. Spring Brake is one of those weeks. I spent a lot of time with the TLC guys this week and got a lot done. The impo...rtant part of the real work also got done. Edwin, Loretta, and I had a group before the TLC guys returned down the hill. I think they all got something out of their stay. It was quite a week. Monday its back to school.

Our 9 young men are working off all their TLC as the rest of the campus is doing spring break. I'm with the TLC Cyrene as is my son Edwin who is living with the guys in tents in the back 40. It's like a mini wilderness ( one week). The guys went to the movies on Monday and the trampoline park yesterday. Today they will be doing " Bubble Balls" look for pictures Loretta will post. To be with the guys in the woods is the place for me. I'm with the TLC crowd and I'm not in trouble. On Monday all the guys will get to start with a clean slate. 25 young men OFF TLC! Hopefully it lasts as it is time to get the boat summarized!

So good to have Edwin back! He will be taking 9 young men on a week camping expedition on the back 40 and get some "trail work" done. We will have him for a bit, then he is off to Yosemite, Panama, and Costa Rico.

Having the school full (the first time in 10 years), and our young adult program full (typical), has created challenges for our staff. The professional team we... have is doing a great job and we are looking forward to Spring Break activities! Joey had some of his guys dirt biking an rock climbing in Moab. He always takes the lead!

We had a surprise visitor on the way back from the Filling Station Meeting.........a moose! He ran right in front of my truck. We were on the driveway so I was going slow enough to brake before we got close (4 feet). 4 of the young men in my truck had NEVER seen a moose before!
