Having a blast on tour in Germany. Sam Brookes has been joining us on a few songs in the set - including here on 'Disappear', filmed at Badehaus Berlin by Joachim Westphal for Pure Live Music Recordings.

Love this piece by Michael Harriot in The Root on the Godmother of Rock ‘n’ Roll: Sister Rosetta Sharpe

The first time I heard Sister Rosetta Tharpe, I cried real tears. Not because her distinct sound of music sounded as if one of God’s angels drank a fifth of gin and figured out a way to plug an extension cord into its harp. It wasn’t because I was listening to something that was recorded in the ...

Loving our Germany tour!

Still 7 shows to go.

Blessed to be working with these wonderful humans: Sam Brookes, Lukas Drinkwater, Rob Pemberton and Rebecca Kemp.

Thank you

...Smith assures me that loss should not keep love at bay. Rather it should serve as an invitation.

“I lost my brother, but I have a dear sister,” Smith says. “I lost my husband, but I have two children that I love. I love my friends. I love my work. Love is an essential human ingredient.”

“I don’t fear love," Smith says. "I’m happy to have it within me.”

I recently read Patti Smith's new novel, Devotion, and as with all her writing, was very moved. I liked this article loosely about love too...

Happy valentines people.

Last night at the Americana Music Association UK awards show was a hugely special night for me.
I got to sing 'Over My Shoulder' - a song I'm incredibly proud of, to a beautiful audience full of friends, colleagues, peers and music-loving fans.
I was then awarded 'UK Artist of the Year' by a dear friend of mine, Frank Turner, who over the years has generously given me so many wonderful opportunities. Cheers Frank!
As if that wasn't already enough, I also got to sing Tom Pe...tty and the Heartbreakers's song 'Wildflowers' with a host of incredibly talented musicians including Robert Plant, Mumford and Sons, Courtney Marie Andrews, Seth Lakeman, Angaleena Presley, The Worry Dolls, Ethan Johns, Robert Vincent, Imelda May, The Wandering Hearts and so many more!
It was exhilarating and I'm still aglow from it all. I have so many people to thank for this wonderful opportunity - you all know who you are!
Thank YOU all for your continued support of my music.
Love and gratitude,

A COVER & ANOTHER Ep. 10 / Pt. 2 is a song of mine called 'This Is What It Feels Like To Die' from the album 'Home State'. Emily Barker was kind enough to lend ...her beautiful voice to this one, too.

It's always a massive pleasure singing with Em ❤️. She's such an incredible, indie Aussie songwriter doing AMAZING things. Excited to do it again in London on Wednesday!

Check out the album recording of this song here: ⬅️. Airling sings the harmony on that one
