Home-Buying in the U.S.!
My good friend and ELLA member Aleksandra Poseukova is the new Program Director at Bellevue Family YMCA. She gave me a tour of the Y on Bel-Red road today, and boy was I impressed with all they offer there!!
- an indoor swimming pool & free towels to use!
- lots of exercise rooms
- lots nice exercise equipment (weights, treadmills, elliptical, and much more)
- Zumba, Yoga, Tai Chi, Salsation, Pilates, and many other classes...
- an indoor walking/running track
- a basketball court
- a coffee station/relaxation area where you can sit & read or work on your laptop
- and FREE childcare for up to 2 hours while you are inside the building!!! Wow! The childcare room looked so fun, with lots of climbing spaces and a separate room for infants. You can take a class, or take a swim, or even just sit and read a book for two hours in a quiet space while your kids are safely taken care of in the play space!
Monthly membership is very affordable and all fitness classes, swimming pool use, and childcare are included in the membership. (by the way, the membership is good at any YMCA in King County... and the Sammamish YMCA has an amazing aquatic center that looks so fun, so you can go there, too: https://www.facebook.com/YMCAinSammamish/)
Aleksandra or any of the front desk staff will be happy to give you a tour, if you stop by. The address of the Bellevue Family YMCA is 14230 Bel-Red road.
I just wanted to share this great information with all of you!
Mandarin-speaking Volunteers Needed!!!
The JubileeREACH ESL program is in need of some volunteers who speak Mandarin.
Their morning ESL program consists of 90%... Mandarin-speaking students. The lower level students (level 0-1) require Mandarin interpreters in class because the students know very little English and the teachers need help to communicate with the students.
They would like to find more volunteer interpreters to help on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings at 9:30-11:00am.
You can help others AND get some English practice by serving as an interpreter in an ESL class! It's a great opportunity.
If you're interested, please message me (Suzanne Steiner Sievert) and send me your email address, and I will connect you with the JubileeREACH contact person.
The winter rainy season means SNOW in the mountains! There are plenty of ways to get out and enjoy the mountains during this time of year. Put on some warm clo...thes, grab your waterproof gloves & cozy hat, and head to the higher elevations for some great outdoor activities in the snow.
