Article on ketogenic diet creator.
Today is "Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist Day" and we have a very special video to share with you!
If you or a loved one has been treated with the ketogen...ic diet, you have Millicent Kelly to thank for that possibility. In 1949 upon her graduation from college, she embarked on a remarkable journey where she and Dr. John Freeman at John's Hopkins would become the sole remaining practitioners of ketogenic therapies for epilepsy. She dedicated her career and a part of her retirement to educating families on how to manage diet therapy and has impacted many lives.
Her unique candor, southern charm and strong resolve are cherished by everyone who knows her. Today, Mrs. Kelly is 93 years old and doing very well! She would greatly appreciate hearing from you, please leave a comment and we will share them with her. Please share this post!
I had the wonderful opportunity to interview the Gillen family and Will is one of the strongest individuals I have ever met. Below is a story I did this past we...ek on a child who has been suffering from severe seizures his entire life. Medicinal Marijuana has been a treatment proven to limit seizures and because of the laws Nebraska has, he has been denied of the opportunity to try this form of medicine that ultimately could change his life. For the past FIVE years, Shelley Kimnach Gillen and Dominic Gillen have been fighting for the legalization of this drug in hopes it would help their son live a better life. You may be wondering how you can help. There are two easy ways:
1. Share this story
2. Contact your Senator and tell them that you support the legalization (Bill LR293CA) and you can find him/her here:
