Went to see ed on sat night his performance was amazing however the stadium has an absolute joke. It was 35 degrees in Melbourne and yet the venues management still insisted on having the roof closed.... It could have easily been 40+ degrees inside a packed sell out stadium. There were ppl dropping like flys due to the heat yet venue management still have the ordacity to blame ED’s tour management for the decision to close the roof. To rub salt into wounds the venue was selling HOT bottled water for $5 a bottle wtf come on Edithad that’s a bloody joke I spent $60 on bottled water throughout the night to keep myself and my wife hydrated. It was an absolute joke. Never before have I experienced anything like it from this venue and I have attended this venue to many times to count, anything from footy to concerts to corporate functions it was an absolute joke. Your own staff were even struggling with the heat yet still had to pay $5 for a HOT bottle of water. Absolutely pathetic from a oh&s prospective not to mention patrons heath and wellbeing bottled water should have been free. I’m pretty certain Victorian liquor licensing laws state any licensed bar must provide water free of charge to anyone that requests it not one of your bars did this not good enough. ED was amazing tho and thankfully he was able to keep the crowds in good spirits. Mehr anzeigen

I attended Ed Sheeran last night with my two teenaged daughters, and their friend. I was horrified by the negligence in care of the concert goers in GA Front Standing. Once we had our spots on the flo...or at 4.15PM and two bottles of water each we waited along with all the other excited Ed Sheeran fans in heat that was steadily rising from 35 degrees to around 40 degrees...once Bliss n Esso hit the stage at 6.30PM part way into their set, a girl passed out from heat just to our right, we all start gesturing to Bliss n Esso that there was something terribly wrong, they finally understood our frantic and deliberate gesturing towards the unconscious girl on the floor, the MC cut the music and asked if everything was ok, we all screamed HELP!!! The security had no idea that help was needed, every 5 minutes the crowd was trying to get the attention of security for desperate help. We were basically trapped about 10 metres from the stage, there was no way out...as far as water “stations” go there was a choice of two that I was directed to by staff, one on level 1 aisle 32 and 1 on level two, it was one tap! The security were handing out small cups of water to the very front but 5-10 metres from the stage there was no way to catch the attention of security to say that people were in utter distress and in need of hydration. The ever increasing heat was unbearable...now this is the good part at 8.45PM Ed certainly raised our spirits when he came out, and he put on amazing show, and we all want to thank him so much for all the joy, but I wish the management had taken care of the wellbeing of the ticket holders...air con was a necessity, availability and ease of access to water was essential. We made it through to the end, but many around us wilted before Ed even got in the stage. We love you Ed Sheeran, come back to Melbourne soon Mehr anzeigen

Went on Friday night, had been a top of 28 degrees that day but was cooling off fast in the evening (can't even imagine how Saturday night would have been!) I tweeted Etihad stadium asking if the roof... was staying shut as soon as we arrived on Friday night because we were already too hot in there, they said yes it is. There was almost no air flow in there at all.
Not allowed to bring your own water inside you have to pay $6.80 for their bottled water (profiteering much?!) And then you aren't even allowed to take lids into the GA section so you have to remove them and somehow hold onto it without spilling it everywhere.
It was near impossible to get out of the crowd once you were in it so you are stuck there sweating for 4 hours unless you want to squeeze your way out slowly and pay another $7 for water. A girl in front of us passed out, tried so hard to get attention, screamed out, used the "drowning" wave, tried to tweet etihad for help but the free wifi kept dropping out, took 15 minutes get her help which I believe was a result of a man wading out of the crowd to tell paramedics. So many rules displayed on the screens but there's no "signal" we should make to get attention in an emergency nor anyone looking out for the crowd from a height?!
Lastly, it took us 40 minutes to exit the building in a squashed crowd, too bad if there was an emergency?

The show was amazing but this was my first time at Etihad and I was disgusted at the management of the event.

Where are your gluten free food options for coeliacs and gluten intolerant people? No gluten free sandwiches available at cafes and apparently only one vendor on one level selling gluten free pies. ...Thank goodness there was a gluten free bun option at Stacks. You don't make it easy for people who are gluten free visiting from interstate to enjoy an outing at the footy. Mehr anzeigen

Ed was amazing Friday but the seating was bloody awful...so uncomfortable and on ground level, the lights stay on so you lose all the atmosphere and just get to listen to people talking in bars and s...taff who think it's a great idea to drag noisy trolleys all over the place...total let down for a concert i was waiting months for.. It was really hot and crowded on Saturday more over the screens were not that great... spl when accommodating to such a large crowd we expect to see something of the performance.. all have paid money ...to attend the concert and it’s due diligence to ensure we get our monies worth.. people kept fainting before the performance and Ed Sheeran also mentioned it was hot.. nothing was done about the heat.. extremely disappointed.. Was at Bruno Mars on Wednesday and Rod Lever Arena was well equipped. Mehr anzeigen

I was at last nights concert and as much as I loved Ed, it was ridiculously hot in a stadium with the roof closed. There's no way you can say that patrons health and safety always come first when peop...le were passing out and overcome due to the heat. And what's worse, several food and beverage venues ran out of water!! Not acceptable Etihad. Mehr anzeigen

Your stadium is rubbish, you have a roof that can open and close but you don’t have it open today, It was 55 degrees in there. The line to fill up a water bottle was 30 metres long. And what’s the poi...nt of having all those tv screens inside and not showing the game or the score on them, no one cares about fan Instagram selfies or the new Toyota. Mehr anzeigen

Ed Sheeran was amazing last night! Etihad, not so much! It was disgustingly hot in the stadium, and unfortunately I was one of the people that got sick from the heat, regardless of the clothes I wore ...or how much I drank.
Even if they couldn't open the roof, there needs to be some way to cool down the stadium so people aren't getting sick and missing the concert.

Ed sheeran concert Sunday was incredible! Staff were super friendly and everywhere ready to assist. Paramedics were quick to react when people fainted in the crowd. We were 3rd floor and it’s was per...fect. Was a great, cool temperature(we were stressing after reading people complain about the heat) - was not an issue last night. Queues were quick in and out of the stadium. Sound quality was amazing!! No complaints here - from two very thankful Queenslanders Mehr anzeigen

Went on the friday night to see Ed Sheeran, The performance was phenomenal. To bad I can't say the same for the venue. Not only was the temperature insanely hot ( to the point where my phone over heat...ed and died) but my friends and I were on the ground level sitting on the seats not in the mosh where we had the fluorescent lights on from the food stalls behind us on for the WHOLE show. Its was very distracting and uncomfortable, its Hard to be immersed in the show when your being blinded by cheap fluorescent lights. Pretty disappointing when you spend almost $200 on a ticket.
Ed was fantastic though.

The food disposed of in the skip bins out the back of McDonalds is more appealing. Pay for a high mark membership yet no seats left in the Laurette Room to eat a decent meal. Decided not to eat until ...after the match so I don’t fall ill from the grime served up elsewhere within the stadium. Mehr anzeigen

Disgusting end of match Easter Egg event after today's AFL game. Kids who were sitting on level 3 for the game in tears as they wandered the ground looking for an egg as other patrons (adults!) fille...d bags and boxes of chocolates. Be fair Etihad. Allow time for level 3 patrons reach the ground or perhaps give the kids an egg on admission. Not in the Aussie spirit of a fair go at all Mehr anzeigen

While the location is unbeatable in terms of transport access and proximity to CBD, the facilities leave A LOT to be desired. I saw Ed Sheeran on Friday night and loved his performance, however, I fel...t that the disgustingly sweltering temperature on level 3, and FIVE DOLLAR(!!!!!!) bottles of water were absolutely ridiculous. It was 30 degrees outside, but it had to be a lot hotter than that inside with the roof closed and no source of a breeze or fresh air.

For the prices people pay to attend events at this stadium, surely they can afford to install some air conditioning! Poor Ed was constantly having to wipe away sweat and guzzle water while not missing a beat. It was the same watching Adele last year.

On top of that, the seats are so small and uncomfortable that the guy next to me was overflowing onto my leg, so I spent the night trying desperately to find a comfortable position with only half a seat, AND melting into a human puddle. As much as I would have loved to jump and dance more with Ed’s encouragement, I was stuck to my seat.

On a positive note, though, the staff I interacted with were absolutely lovely and so helpful :)

Etihad Stadium - you can, and must, do better!

Worst venue ever
I will never go to another concert there.
I was there last night to see Ed Who was amazing at least for the first half which is all I got to see as the second half was spent trying t...o re hydrate my daughter and myself we both felt physically ill and dizzy then I was helping another couple beside me after the female fainted. I messaged last night and got a pathetic response saying their patrons are their number 1 priority. Then passing the buck onto the promoter saying it was their decision to have the roof closed and that they had water stations I would love to know where these mystical stations were I certainly didn’t see any so had to buy water at $5 a bottle. And said you had first aid staff to help. I would have thought prevention would have been better. Mehr anzeigen

Attended Ed Sheeran show he was great but the roof not being open was abhorrent. Also the lack of screens so everyone including people at the back of the stadium could see his talent was also so so d...isappointing. Would I go to Etihad stadium again for a concert. Straight answer No. Get your act together Etihad it's not just about making money, think about the comfort and enjoyment of the fans. Mehr anzeigen

Hi,
I am extremely disappointed in the health and safety standard shown at Ed Sheerans concert last night, me and my mum both felt like we were going to faint because of the heat in the environment, w...e were trying to enjoy it as much as we could because we both think he’s amazing but at about half way through we just couldn’t bear it anymore and had to leave our area which we had waited hours and spent a lot of money on just for it to be cut short because we felt like we were going to drop, we had to spend around $50 on water because the only free water being given out was at the very front of the standing area, we then had to sit down at the side of the standing area and we couldn’t see anything but we had to endure it like that because we were feeling extremely sick, then a girl comes next to us that’s nearly falling on the ground and we gave her our water because she needed it right then and there, people were dropping like flies even in the first act and then it just kept snowballing it is completely ridiculous and if you’s have any duty of care to the customers you will compensate us somehow because we shouldn’t have had to go through that and if it was frontier wanting the roof closed you should have overruled that because it was clearly not safe and it will be you getting the back lash and there has been talk about starting a class action against the venue Mehr anzeigen

Why on earth in the 21st century are you guys not supplying little sauce sachets at each food outlet!?

We are all forced to smash a pie with an uneven ratio of sauce to pie!

I saw ed sheeran on Saturday night. Yes it was hot but where we were it was not that bad. Every one had access to free water refill stations. Obviously the decision to keep the roof closed was made fo...r a reason. After the first song I forgot about the heat and enjoyed the reason I was there, to see a true artist perform. Mehr anzeigen

Ed was awesome last night but honestly having to miss parts of the show and support acts due to the extreme temperature in the stadium was really disappointing. You don't pay $$$ for a ticket to a gig... like that just to sit in a pool of your own sweat and stand-by to catch fellow fans as they drop from heat exhaustion, not in the stands anyway and not children. The roof was open at the Adele concert on a warm evening which was soooo much better so I wonder why it was kept closed for Ed. Even staff said it was a hotbox the night before. Will think twice before I go to a gig there again. Mehr anzeigen
