We've been silent for quite a while! A lot has happened since last we posted. Unfortunately, we had to shelve EMO due to a number of issues. That was a REALLY tough decision, believe me, but it was just draining too many resources.
The good news is that we've become leaner and meaner! And as a result, I'm pleased to announce a new game:
Monsters! (not a final name - open to suggestions!)
This game will be produced in multiple stages. The first stage is a very simple turn based monster hunting/bashing game, easy enough for anyone to pick up but with three difficulty levels to provide a good challenge for most player levels. Simple leaderboards as well for those with the constant urge to get the highest score.
The theme is directly based on HP Lovecraft's incredible mythos. We've been working on making the game dark, moody, and suspenseful!
Future versions of this stage will likely add things like special items to find that affect gameplay, multiple levels, and randomized dungeons.
Ultimately, we're looking to turn this game into an online multiplayer party based RPG (not MMO, but rather the kind of game you'd play with a couple friends).
Finally, the game is free! Enjoy!
We've got an updated version of the Kickstarter video! Check it out and let us know what you think!
Make sure to use this link, not the KS button in the video (for some reason that's incorrect):
EMO will be at the Game Dev and Art Tech meetup in SF, CA tomorrow (Wed) at 6:30pm! Come by, see EMO and all the other cool games as well as a talk about how the Unreal engine is being used for VR! Hope to see you there!
EMO fans, who is your favorite emo, funny, or pathetic villain? Dr. Evil from Austin Powers? The Joker? Wile E. Coyote? Dark Helmet from Spaceballs? Lord Farquaad from Shrek? Felonius Gru from Despicable Me (he's still a villain even though he's the protagonist )? Prince Humperdinck from Princess Bride? Vizzini from Princess Bride?
Hey EMO fans!
Here's our first big announcement! We're going to be running a kickstarter campaign soon to finish the game. This isn't the official announcement for it though. Instead this is a preview of it, and we would love your feedback. Does it all make sense? Are the rewards interesting? The stretch goals? How's the video? And most important, would you help out, or is there something else needed before you'd make a contribution?
Feel free to post comments here or on the ...preview page. As always, thanks for your help and continued support!
Going to the Big Wow comic con today in San Jose, CA? We are! If you see an EMO t-shirt, stop us and say hi!
Hey EMO fans!
It's been a while since our last post, but we're still here!
We've had some setbacks, but we're still in the game (yes, cheesy pun intended).
So here are a couple updates:
First, we just hit 600 likes, woohoo!
Second, we'll be making a big announcement soon (no, not release of the game yet), so keep a lookout for it!
Third, we'll make another post before the big one that you won't want to miss either, as it will basically be a prelude to the big post, giving you info on what that post will be about.
I know, sounds all mysterious, eh? Well that's how the EMO rolls baby. Ok maybe he's a bit more transparent. And melodramatic. Whatever, just keep those eyes peeled!
We'll be at the Silicon Valley IGDA meetup tonight! Might even be able to chat EMO a bit.
We'll be at the fourth Game Dev Art and Tech meetup in SF Wednesday night showing off #EMO. Hope to see you there!
Happy Batman day! Today is the 75th anniversary of the creation of one of the greatest superheroes of all time! All thanks to Bob Kane! So go out there and sing out loud "Nananananananananananananananana Batman!"
Listen up evil minions! One of the members of the Evil Overlord Council #eviltrio has just pushed their game, Undead Overlord (www.undeadoverlord.com), live on Steam Early Access! Succumb to the evil!
Once again, we'll be at the Game Dev Art and Tech meetup that's coming up on Monday, July 21 to show off EMO! Hope to see you there!
