Staff who sort Exeter's 'recycling' have been recognised with an award.

Exeter's Materials Reclamation Facility (MRF) has won the latest round of Recycle Devon's 'Thank You' Awards.

Staff at the MRF in Exton Road sort through all the recyclable items collected by the City Council's waste and recyling crews.

The household items which are collected from Exeter residents are sorted by the MRF staff and then sent off for recycling, bringing in valuable income to support public services in the city.

The MRF also sort unwanted plastic washed up on Devon's beaches collected by volunteers as part of Keep Britain Tidy's BeachCare initiative.
