Our team at FamilyHistory.co.uk have been working to provide interesting and useful Family History Resources on our website. One project we have been working on has been Pre-1841 Census Records and information on the surviving listings. Many hundreds of census listings and books have survived in the English Counties and, with the permission of the University of Essex, we have tabulated a lot of useful information on the 1801 census, 1811 census, 1821 census, and 1831 census.... These were early censuses that were taken for purely statistical purposes, and most listings and records were destroyed or lost.
However some pre 1841 Census Records did survive and many of these include valuable information for genealogists and family historians. Visit this page to find out more and to check on the surviving census listings in your county. These records are never complete as pre 1841 census records continue to be found: http://www.familyhistory.co.uk/pre-1841-census-records/
A big 'thank you' to everyone who has followed familyhistory.co.uk. We have been busy updating our site - including the 1939 Register page. The 1939 Register is often called the 'Wartime Domesday' book and is one of the most important genealogical sources of the 20th Century. Please give our page a visit if you are researching ancestors who were alive at the outbreak of World War II.
