- Just signed up for my first FDSA course (and gold level too)! I got ...super excited and then remembered all the other students will be able to see my homework videos and then suddenly got SUPER NERVOUS... However, I'm going to have to be brave if I want to make some progress with my heeling. *fingers crossed* Meer weergeven
- Considering NW101 on a bronze level, (if I am fortunate to win) in a...ddition to my Gold level BYB with Donna Hill. Foresee a confusing issue for my Bichon. I have trained him using Susan Garrett's It's Your Choice game so he will not touch the food in open hand until given permission. Also shaped him to do nose/hand target which he does well and we continue to use that for many things. While watching the Sample video of NW 101, I saw that the first shaping would involve these shaping behaviors but differently than we have done since there is something in each hand. I suspect that he will target the tin because of vision , not scent. What do you think? Thanks. Meer weergeven

If you have already written on this subject, telling me to search harder wouldn't be considered an aversive. It might be a good question to answer with a blog post. In trick training dogs can sometimes become demanding, and I'm not always sure I'm reading the behavior properly, or dealing with it appropriately. To engage, or not to engage that is the question...
