Most disappointing, the T-bone steak was ordered as medium-well but came as medium-rare. Also it was predominantly bone. Much more so than the norm elsewhere., and although it was probably close to th...e advertised weight, For £28 for just the steak one would expect more accuracy with both the weight and the cooking.
My wife ordered a Pizza, it was stone cold and rock hard and had obviously been cooked first and just left. My wife's Pizza (£12) was replaced by a 'concoction' entitled "Sweet Potato Arancini, piperade, grilled courgettes & fresh basil oil" which actually was three one and a half inch balls of rice and sweet potato in what should have been sauce prepared with onion, green peppers, and tomatoes sautéd and flavoured with red Espelette pepper, but was in fact nothing like the menu description..
The Sliced Artisan Bread, garlic confit, balsamic vinegar & oils starter was also not in line with the norm elsewhere, as it came with three 'Chunks" of one type of bread, lots of oil (singular) and a minuscule amount of balsamic vinegar lurking in the bottom of the small dish. I must compliment the friendly staff. The ONLY mitigating factor to what was a completely unsatisfactory experience. As a member of the Gourmet Society I cannot in all honesty recommend this restaurant.

I arranged a surprise birthday in the Fig and olive for last Saturday and have to say everything was perfect. From the initial enquiries, room arrangements, pre orders, service on the day, and of the food was all fantastic. They function room was amazing and perfect for our party of 30 all sitting down to a 2 or 3 course meal. Special thanks to our waitress Abbie for the night, who made sure everyone got what they ordered and that we were regularly topped up with drinks. All other staff were equally friendly and helpful too, so thanks to everyone in front of house and the kitchen for making my nans 70th surprise special. See More

Visited last night, setting was really comfortable with dim lighting giving a warm atmosphere. Service spot on. Visited once before a couple of months ago and on both occasions service and food have b...een brilliant. Very attentive staff but not overbearing. Went for T bone steak last night, which was seasoned and cooked beautifully. Will definitely return and recommend to others. Thank you See More

Everyone's a critic so quick to be negative,. Everything about this place is class,. You truly get what you pay for, if you want cheap go to a 2 for 10 pub and waste your money, If you want quality served by nice people in a lovely environment, go to the fig and olive. See More

I visited with my friend for afternoon tea this weekend and it was lovely, but nothing compared to what it was in March this year when I took my mum. When I invited my friend to come I was expecting t...he same high level, but it just didn't meet it and it felt all rather average in comparison, especially with the level of competition in the surrounding areas. Hopefully you can get back to your best! See More

We had a surprise party in the room at the rear for my son's 18th party on Friday 1st December. The room looked amazing, we had a buffet for 38 people and the food was great and plentiful. The staff... were really attentive and looked after us really well. Highly recommend Fig&Olive to anyone. See More

Far too long to wait for food. Waited over an hour & nothing special ordered. Had to request some bread after 45 minutes to keep us going. This was a Monday Lunch Time, must be a nightmare in the ev...ening? For this reason after 3 visits and always the same shall not be returning. See More

Surprised my mum last night with a party of 13 and the food was amazing, pre ordered so we didn't have too much of a wait. Staff were so helpful and polite! The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is... cause the price of prosecco £33 a bottle is ridiculous !! See More

On 4th August we were lucky enough to hold our wedding reception at The Fig & Olive. We had visited several times before and always loved the atmosphere so we were over the moon when they agreed to our reception as we know it's not something they normally do. From the very beginning Beth and her team couldn't have been more helpful in making sure everything went smoothly. On the day the room was dressed beautifully which was all the work of the staff with next to no input from us. We had booked afternoon tea for 50 guests and the food was amazing. The service was outstanding too, the whole team made sure everyone was happy but without being intrusive. Fortunately for us the weather was good and so our guests were able to enjoy the lovely patio area too. We were joined in the evening by a further 150 guests who danced the night away to the band we had booked. The evening buffet didn't disappoint either, really good quality food, a step up from your normal buffet. I lost track of the number of our guests who commented on what a fantastic venue it is. More than anything it was the staff who made our day. Friendly, polite, fun and very professional. We really can't thank Beth and the rest of the team enough for making our day so very special. My daughter in law booked a birthday breakfast for me and it was wonderful. The food, service and setting was just right. The staff bought my birthday cake out and sang to me. There were 5 of us 3 ad...ults a 2 year old and a 6 week old baby the staff acknowledged the children as well as the adults.
My first visit but not the last.

Visited as part of a big group of 20+ whilst the food was lovely, and the restaurant itself is beautiful, the service could be improved on. As you can imagine with such a large party many drinks were ...drunk and not once were the glasses cleared away. By the time we left I for one had 6 glasses in my space as did many of my colleagues. I can only think that the bar has an unlimited supply!! See More

Went to the Classic Car evening with friends, fantastic array of various vehicles, really first class and worthy of any organised car show. Lovely local venue, only downside was the barbecue.
£10 for ...a burger with side salad, too expensive and wasn't great, from what we observed not much of a take-up by people attending. Fig and olive need to review this and change, otherwise great evening. See More
