Thank you all so much for your interest in Warner’s Warrior Day - Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Beech Lake in Lexington!! We have so many people pre-registere...d and volunteering so we are looking forward to a fun day! We are also going to have a 1 mile path available for those who prefer not to run or walk the full 5K. Pre-registration ends this weekend, but if you aren’t able to pre-register you can still come that morning (Sept. 12th) and sign up for the same price we just don’t know how many extra t-shirts we will have available on race day ($20 for 5K and $10 for trike-a-thon)! We know there is a lot going on in town on this Saturday, but if you can’t participate in the 5K we still invite you to stop by anytime from 8:00 - 12:00 and bid on something in the silent auction, buy some raffle tickets, or buy some homemade baked goodies and lemonade! If you like to eat out in Lexington or Jackson we have tons of gift cards in the auction to great places like Outback Steakhouse, Chili’s, Moe’s, Papa John’s, Los Portales, The Lunch Box, and so many more! We also have some really nice items that were donated. We have been overwhelmed with such amazing support from sponsors and local businesses (and of course friends and family)! Thank you all! The hope we feel each Monday as we spend our day at St. Jude is really indescribable. St. Jude truly helps the whole child and family, not just the cancer. It takes donations from everyone to help make St. Jude the miraculous place that it is!
Several have asked about buying a 5K shirt even though they cannot attend the event so we have decided to offer the t-shirt to those “spirit runners” who want to donate and support but can’t attend. We have so much going on with all the different shirts that it’s definitely confusing so we apologize! But the spirit shirts will be the exact same as the one you get with your 5K registration (NOT the ABC’s of Cancer shirts). However, if you want just the spirit shirt and are not doing the 5K the cost is $15 for adult (S-5X) and we now have the 5K shirts for youth sizes (XS-L) for $10. (We have goodie bags for all the trike-a-thon participants instead of the 5k shirt so these are just available as an extra since everyone loves t-shirts!). It’s short notice, but if you would like a spirit shirts please “pre-register” for them by commenting on this post, texting us, or sending a private message to Matt Wood with your size by Sunday night (this weekend). The 5k t-shirts will be orange with navy ink. The front will be the 5K design with Warner’s handprint (pictured in white here - use your imagination to see it on an orange shirt with navy) and the back will be the design shown with our shirt sponsors listed.
All proceeds for everything we are doing will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of Warner Wood. Please make checks payable to Warner’s Warrior Day/St. Jude and mail them to Matt Wood 590 Tiffany Nicole Lane Lexington, TN 38351. Thank you so much for all of your support!
Please spread the word!!!
Friday, August 14th - last day to pre-order! We will have a few extra of each size at Warner's Warrior Day.
Warner’s ABC’s of Cancer t-shirts for sale!
Septembe...r is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month which is why we chose to do a fundraiser for St. Jude in honor of Warner during September! St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude freely shares their research with other institutions to help cure cancer. That’s just one of the many reasons St. Jude warms our hearts everyday! In addition to our 5K event, we are selling Warner t-shirts again! It brightens our day every time we see someone wearing a “Warner’s Story” t-shirt — thank you all so much for your continued support! Warner still loves Toy Story, but we decided to make this new shirt about another one of his favorite things…his letters! So we have an ABC’s of Cancer t-shirt for sale. On the back of the shirts it has the inspiring Dr. Seuss quote from Ronald McDonald House that we loved written by Warner’s cousin, Barrett, and it has Warner’s handprint! Corporate Images has worked so hard to help us create such a personalized t-shirt for our little hero!
All proceeds from t-shirt sales benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We will have the t-shirts available to pickup at Warner’s Warrior Day or we can get them to you another way if needed. These shirts do not have anything to do with the 5K t-shirts for race participants.

This is a wonderful story. Thank you to everyone who donates to help save lives!
In the conditioning phase regimen, they count the days like NASA preparing for launch. Today is Day -1 meaning only 1 more day before transplant. Today more t...han likely is the day the donor is having her surgical procedure to harvest her bone marrow in a hospital somewhere. All we know is she is a 23 year old female and we can only wonder what led her to make the decision to donate. Someday we hope to meet her and let her know how grateful we are for her decision.
With the help of some powerful pain and nausea meds and a pain pump, Natalie finished her chemo therapy and radiation. She is doing mouth care 4 times a day though mouth sores are beginning to appear as expected. Two nights ago she was hooked up to a heart monitor for heart palpitations and we will know more after additional tests come back today. We're learning her days ahead will be a lot of monitoring and checking vital signs and blood levels at all hours of the day and night. The biggest hurdle at the moment is figuring out what is causing her to have 20 episodes of hiccups each day.
She abandoned her wheelchair to celebrate the end of radiation one day to take the long way back to her room. With a sheepish grin on her face, she looked like a mental patient skipping across the street only wearing a hospital gown and her trusty snowman blanket.
It's National Cancer Survivors Day, a day to celebrate the 14 million Americans living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis as well as those who live on in our hearts. Who are you honoring or remembering today?
Please consider giving to this precious baby!
Praises for Paxton's health!
Labs looked great! Our oncologist is very pleased with how he is doing. What a difference one year makes. March 3rd 2014 was the first day of his journey at CCH. Thanks to God, the staff/doctors, Paxton's fighting spirit and the support of so many he is as strong as ever. #paxtonstrong
