Wordier Than Thou, which organized the initial Florida Bookstore Day, is opening a bookstore in Pinellas County in a few weeks. We're wrapping up some fundraisers for the project, which we're calling a literary arts gallery and will include a non-profit bookstore, small press and event space.

Every dollar donated to the project helps immensely. In fact, donate $25 today and I'll send you our whole series of posters inspired by famous Florida novels!

As a literary arts organization our mission statement can be summed up in two words: literary nonsense. Since 2012, we’ve supported local authors by organizing outside-the-box events throughout the state. Our goal is two-fold: to foster the literary arts community and to create a new fan base fo...

The Wordier Than Thou Writers Project is a go! We'll be opening a bookstore, literary arts gallery and event space in the City of Pinellas Park, FL later this s...pring. We've also launched a small press that will operate out of the storefront. This will be a collaborative space open to all individuals/groups focused on any artistic mediumsand community organizations for use. There may or may not be a piano.

We're looking for the support of the community to make this happen. We appreciate all you've done for us over the years, attending our events and supporting writers. But now we need the funds to make this awesome project a reality. Every dollar counts. Even if we don't reach our goal amount, we'll still get everything we've raised.

The money will be used for the following: rent for the first several months, insurance, bookcases and other fixtures, books, movers, turning on utilities, our non-profit application, printing our first chapbooks, photo sessions for our pin-up calendar, etc.

We have some cool perks available and more will be added down the road.

And again, thanks so much for your support! We wouldn't be able to do this without all of you!

This year's Florida Bookstore Day might have fizzled, but next year we'll regroup and come back strong.

Still, you should all go out and support your local indie bookstores today - and every day!

In addition to the event below, the store will also host Book Launch Party: Brazen by Christina Farley that afternoon and will be involved with Functionally Literate presents: Padgett Powell, an off-site event that evening.
