Peggy eighteen hello and welcome to our demo of the search I'm adam attaining head of game design at 13 and with me is thorsten lager our head of engineering will be doing the driving for us today and surge is a hardcore action pg with a focus on tactical combat scheduled for release in may of this year on ps four and ps four pro x box one and pc you may remember from a previous video that the surgeons set in a dystopian near future version of Earth the game takes place in the sprawling industrial complex of creole a company trying to reverse the globally catastrophic effects of climate change after some sort of disaster is occurred in primary facilities so this point the game you know that section of the create complex you've seen so far is just totally messed up uh most of the workers are dead the ones are left are craze they tack you on site see you in a little bit of a rescue mission here uh the company's leadership is trapped up in the executive levels they're the ones in charge of all the systems they might be able to give you some answers maybe even reverse some of the problems here uh but making our way there isn't necessarily going to be very easy the area we're in now is an abandoned by a chemical laboratory where did a lot of the research to develop the compound that they're now launching into the atmosphere so combat in the search doesn't use light and heavy attacks of the rather horizontal and vertical attacks and the reason for that is because we can target specific body parts of our enemies you can see torso here's targeting and on armor body part that's gonna make him do more damage he's more likely to staggers opponent but you can see what he hit and armor part with that last attacks it actually didn't burst washing block when you build up in a comment energy you can do it just saw him do there you can perform finishing sequence which chops off the limb uh letting you take their armor you learn the schematic which means you'll be able to craft that very same armor for yourself back in the station are you can also take the weapons using right away but this is the not upgraded yet they won't be there good uh but you can still move sequences all the different weapons have different finishing sequences so you have to try them out see which ones have said to you like the best which ones are coolest to you personally fit your style we're gonna try out the clean up our group as well as a mounted weapon please notice d contamination has been initiated how response lots have been deployed for your own safety avoid to falling centers laboratory and greenhouse to 13 okay okay so this time we damaged in armored body party we got the weapon and we also got direct gear for that particular piece the body and arm year rhino arm year so be a craft that later and we also picked up an implant implants are really important in the search your rig has a certain number of implants slots you can equip them in that will increase the more core power you build up the more time you love love and they all also consume a certain amount of core power while you're using them so you have to decide whether you prefer more passive benefits you no more health more stamina or more active things like the heels you see in tours and using um you know instant energy boost uh combat damage things like this that make those choices for yourself okay the person just popped out a drone of his own to fight back against one of the strong shooting at them and we mention before that we would have a range combat system and that's exactly what consist so your drone it can be equip with a number of different ability modules things things that do different stuff this cases use the flame thrower to blast these drones out of the sky you really wanna keep a look out for these things they really really interesting they let you mix up your game play sometimes reach enemies you are a little bit higher than you can strike like this okay there's out of order as we need to find somewhere to power it security door okay so we don't have access to go through secure areas yet we have to get that later and then come back and see what's behind there is something that I mentioned in our last video actually about the metro level design elements that we try to use as much as we can uh there's a lot of areas that you'll come across that you won't be able to access the first time that you find them but when you get the capabilities to access them later we want you to be compelled to come back and you know explore those areas so later when you have a security equipped rig that can pass these authorization checks that you can come back this area and see what's behind that locked door similarly with the chest you saw him try to use their as a core power level of eighty required over charge which means that you know you're not enough to do it probably the first time you come to this level but later when your heart level you can come back and open that thing uh maybe get something nice inside so we've come through this like plan research laboratory what's a little secret of now now we're okay now we're in the main greenhouse area so craft that scare of Lake here we go back home tours and cycling through some of these drone implants alright so you just use the inter blaster your own to shoot this zombie man pulling him closer without every going to hit area so uh the inter blasters kinda interesting module for the drama of it actually doesn't cost any energy to use in most cases so you can always pulling me closer to you uh but if you have energy use that energy to deal a good amount of damage you can always use it get a bonus at these energy that's is definitely looks like the main Street House area has its or like growing room set up a bunch of plants under these these lights it's a derelict workers who are not of sound mind anymore who are defending this place against you some very nice not a nice thing to do and we got a higher weapon professionally as well okay we found the me this Sunday activated re initiating system can be activated walk down access restrictions for this sector has been re vote please underground but they appear to consider us contaminated and in need of cleansing by fire suppose you gotta be careful these guys uh the guys who shoot the gas canisters are all that dangerous by themselves the gas canisters will deal damage while you're in the radius but with the fire guys they're quite danger so the gas there is available that will explode if a claim for our touches it and so the way to deal with this as you can see um is to split them apart a little bit of course it is using that can cause of module his drone to knock these guys away from each other give himself a little room at work explosions will hurt the the enemies as well but you can see they're kind of equipped to handle that sort of thing so it would hurt you a lot more than this guy's a weakness it looks like through their fuel tanks are a vulnerable spot and you can get in there take advantage of it then can make a page okay record scratched well done so that's the search uh it's a hardcore
