A A hard hard space. space. space space is is is a a a future that we've kind kind of of a a a created created created. created and and and set set set set in in in in the the the the. 20 20 20 - three hundreds hundreds or or so so not not too too too far far far out out out and and and it it it really really speaks to. really really speaks speaks speaks speaks to to human kind. to to human human kind kind of of of expansion expansion expansion into into into into the solar system. the the solar system. the the solar solar solar system. There's a company company called called Linx Linx and and and they're they're they're kind kind kind of of of at at the epicenter. at at the the the epicenter of this. epicenter epicenter epicenter of this this growth growth in in this this this exploration exploration exploration and and And discovery phase. and discovery discovery discovery discovery phase phase phase phase for for human kind. for for human human human kind where they they built built this huge electromagnetic. this this huge huge huge electromagnetic rail Gates, which which connects connects Earth Earth to to Mars Mars and and a a bunch bunch of other planets. of other planets and. Resource rich environment It allows the ships to travel back and forth. you're essentially playing a zero G surgeon working on these ships, figuring out what makes them tick and it's dangerous work, but it's satisfying work. So the player has two primary tools they've got their grapple tool, which lets them move large pieces of metal or use it to sort of swing around the level as if they were Spider Manning through it. They've also got their laser cutter for cutting through piece of metal and both of these things you become Super familiar with and you'll learn to master, but you can also through the progression system. get add-ons for these tools or upgrades for them. Obviously, one of the main goals for the player is to become an expert and really just to overcome the challenges and adversity adversity of of the. the experience. so I would say. Having the sense that you've overcome things and become sort of the coolest space, cowboy chopping up spaceships is is enjoyable not just for the players, but for people watching as well, It's incredibly enjoyable to see how one that's really good at the game over time, you can get a more precise tools. you can also get macro and get more and more powerful tools that so you can kinda pick your poison with what kind of play you wanna be. When it came time for us to design and develop the controls for this game, we knew it was gonna be a complicated for new players. So we put a lot of effort into making sure that it was one of those. it's that sweet spot of easy to pick up and play but difficult to master. It's very important important to to us us that that that the the the players players players feel feel feel feel like like like like they. they they they can can can approach approach approach the the the the ships. ships ships ships wherever wherever wherever they they they want and they can be creative. creative. so so we we similarly similarly similarly as as as much much much as as as we we we can can can can about about about about the the the. the physics physics physics physics of of of of the the. the the ships ships ships and and and we don't really dictate how they can approach them in terms of salvaging them. So the players can be really creative about how they use the physics and their tools to tear the ships. more to do this. We have to put a lot of effort into how are we actually simulating this many objects in the game, even the things that are off screen still have to be simulated because it's affecting the whole day the whole ship that you're working on. And the more you play and the further you progress in the campaign, the bigger the ships get the more complicated they get the higher value of the pieces that you can pull from it become but also on the flip side that the more dangerous they become so it takes more thinking it takes a higher skill level. It takes you upgrading your tools and your equipment and your helmet and your suit. The goal with this game was not to make say a puzzle experience, but definitely to to make make people people feel feel like like they're they're they're they're approaching. approaching approaching approaching similar similar similar problems. problems problems in. in a different. And from a different angle every time so that they never fall into a routine, but that they're routine jobs sort of delivers unique challenges and experiences every time that they go through it so even if you're cutting up a similar type of ship having systems work in a different way, having elemental components interact in different spaces is gonna force the player to approach things with a fresh lines every time and like my current decision-making is gonna Vastly change the gameplay in a second, so you're not gonna get the same experience each time. We really embraced this idea of systemic design, which is all about providing the fertile ground for emerging Gateway experiences, other things that the players experiencing or the things that they can do and it really rewards creativity and experimentation, and that's something that we find really exciting. We've seen so many interesting strategies emerge and interesting scenarios emerge as people play this game, and we're extremely excited to see more as we enter early access. If you've ever said to yourself as a player, I wanna be part of the process of making this game, this is your opportunity if you join us on Discord if you join our conversations if you give us feedback this will be a chance to really get involved in the development of the game for four years, It's only been our studio. essentially, it's played this game and how many opportunity to open the doors for thousands of players to come in and start just getting more and more. I mean we think chopping up spaceships is is cool cool with with powerful powerful powerful tools tools. tools. and from the. Really kind of response from what we've put out there sounds like there are some others out there. We wanna hear what those players want out of this experience.
