When questioning candidates if you do not get a clear and definitive YES to support an issue or NO to oppose an issue then they will have the place to change at any time with no room for accountability.
Random example: "I never said yes or no, I said I would talk with parents and family's and the Family Research Council told me Transgender students dont need bathroom protection."
Talking about the issues means knowing how you stand on an issue, and how you will vote. Full st...op.
Candidates can learn and grow and often it will come down on us to educate (thats essentially lobbying), but be wary of platitudes that sounds okay but ultimately mean nothing.
Ask things like,"Would you support a bill for..."
"Would you oppose.." and press for a yes or no. thats how we get issues on the record, and thats how we hold politicians accountable.
Keep note of their response, the date you asked, and the function you attended.
