Forest City BrewingBrewery in Middletown, Connecticut
and I were on a roadtrip searching out fun hikes and great beers throughout CT. We had heard of a newer brewery in Middletown called Stubborn Beauty. While looking for it we stumbled acr...oss this little gem in the same industrial building. I ordered a flight to sample everything they had. There were some tasty brews for sure. Forestfest Oktoberfes t and Harvest Saison were my favorites. At the time of our visit they were hosting a cider from New England Cider Company called 'Fresh Blend' and it was fantastic. On our way out we wanted to purchase a growler of each but was told they couldn't sell us a growler of the cider because it wasn't their product, state law dictated they could sell us a blend but not straight up cider. I chose a blend of Harvest with the Fresh Blend cider and the result was awesome! If you're in the Middletown area give this little start-up a visit. It looked like a family run business. The brew master was super personable and really into talking about the product he made. The whole staff made us feel welcome. SIDE NOTE: That industrial building currently houses 2 breweries and will soon also have a cidery on the property. It'll be a one stop bar-crawl. How cool is that?! The only Con: one working bathroom for all three establishm ents...no bueño.

I was here for a 50th birthday party...gr
eat atmosphere and I found the staff very friendly and extremely enthusiast ic about their product. True beer geeks. My favorite was Remington IPA but of you li...ke stout, they had a "chocolate " stout that was out of this world. My wife isn't much of a beer drinker but luckily they also make a cider that she loved!

Beers were great, but there's only 1 line for tastings, glasses and growler fills. I didn't realize this, and got barked at by the counter person. I wanted a glass of beer, after the tasting, but the... line was too full of growler fills. Probably won't be back. Hopefully,
they'll see a little niceness goes a long way.
