Went to the FW Zoo this past Sunday, staff was unfriendly and helpful. Walking around the exhibits was very concerning, many of the animals where sluggish and seemed very unstimulated and sad. You see many of them doing repetitive actions such as the Male Gorilla, he would place his head on the disgusting concrete floor spin himself around then grab some feces and eat it...then he would repeat this action over and over again. The female gorilla would bend over and drink the urine on the concrete floor! The gorillas also looked unstimulated as well.
While walking around you can see garbage in the streams, soda cups, bags and wrappers. Yes there where workers carrying brooms etc but 99% if them where talking and hanging out with each other instead of doin their jobs. I mean seriously do we have to hear about their personal lives and here the comments they are making? NO, very unprofessional.
For all the money that is made the facility should have the animals in better condition plus better activities, mental as well physical for the animals!
Very sad and disappointed

We normally love coming to the zoo, we have a membership. However, today we went and several things were closed. Including the train and Parrot Paradise, which are my daughter's favorite things. Ha...d this information been posted some where we would not have driven an hour just to be disappointed. Also, the girls who were working in the little ice cream shop in Texas Wild were rude and my son couldn't get a shake because they were out of milk! Today I definitely would not have ranked this zoo in the top 5!!!! See More

My son absolutely LOVES the zoo. Wednesday’s aren’t the best day to go however if you want the full experience. Most of the businesses are closed and a lot of food carts are closed too. But If you don...’t mind that and don’t plan on feeding birds, buying food or ice cream, it is a perfect day to go because the crowds aren’t bad and if you go 30 min after opening they feed the animals. Sometimes the lions will roar as well waiting for their food. Those are my pros and cons. Hope it helps :) See More

We loved our visit to the zoo. We got to see all our favorite attractions and added some new ones to the list. The gorillas were our first stop at my sons request, and they never disappoint. The white... tiger and the Penguins were favorites but we had not seen the saltwater crocodile before so he/she was the highlight of our trip. See More

This is my first time coming to the Fort Worth Zoo, and this place is huge! The cons I don’t like about this place is the hours, it sucks that they close early at 4. I wasn’t aware of the hours so I only able to enjoy only an hour. I did see a lot, however; the animals looked very sad, some didn’t look well fed and there wasn’t much going on. The employees are also rude. But other than that, the only positive thing about this place was how big it was. I have more to see the next time I plan on going. I wish they took better care of their animals though. See More

Went when it was opening at 10 on Sunday in the winter. Nice quiet and peaceful. They didn't have many animal interaction. The legless lizard was interesting. I learned something new. As a photog...rapher I was dissapointed there were 2 glasses and I had a reflection of my camera even when it was against the glass. I know that the reptiles comfort was more important than photos. Still enjoyed it even if most of my enjoyment is capturing a certain photo of an animal. See More

Me and my son love going to the Fort Worth zoo. Our favorite is the penguins, but we also love the gorillas, lions, open bird exhibit, and the white tiger! Half-price Wednesday makes a great/cheap Dad...dy/Son outing! See More

Had a great time on a nice Saturday afternoon. Very impressed with the clarity of the water in the exhibits and the functionality of the plumbing. The animals seemed very happy with it as well. Your ...master plumber deserves a raise! See More

Disappointed that not everything was open. Actually a ton of it was closed. And my sister called before she left Austin to make sure everything would be open. You know since we were celebrating my nep...hews first trip to the zoo and his 4th birthday. See More

It was okay we got there at 1:45 and the zoo closes at 4 we tried to make it through the whole zoo but right at 4 they start taking the animals where ever they keep them which sucked because it was 4:...05 and we tried making it to the gorilla and orangutan side but we were unable to see them :( my babies were really looking forward to seeing them too!! I think we picked a bad day to go because a lot of the animals were not out. I did not see the gorilla at all which was very very very disappointing to me.

FW zoo allows people the opportunity for a 360 view on all animals. All animals were so lively, it was the best zoo experience I've had. My family andand I enjoyed the experience.

There were no animals out but the giraffes and we didn’t get to see any other animals and all the construction makes the experience not so well.

Love this zoo - Wish there were some keeper talks though. I believe there used to be. Lots of cool animals in nice environments. 2nd time I've come and no otters. I cannot seem to get the timing down.

Scenery/landscaping is great, good food, a Burger King near the entrance, good Security, train, water park, a 'Texas town', great aquarium building.
Ahhh, the birds are chirping, Gus is playing and we have credit card and phone service in the park - come hang with us!
What's black and white and cute all over? Our new zebra foal! Born this morning, this little guy is up and moving, exploring his new home and getting to know his new parents. This is the first zebra born at the Zoo since 1996! Stop by and say hello this weekend.
Happy birthday Belle! This weekend the Zoo celebrated the elephant calf’s fourth birthday. She may look small compared to the other elephants, but Belle is actually 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs in at over 3,000 pounds. The growing calf’s favorite foods include sweet potatoes, carrots and apples. Be sure to stop by and wish Belle a happy birthday this week!

Dogs and cats aren't the only animals to roam the White House...presidents in the past have had goats, bears, a pygmy hippo and even alligators!

Come see our goats, bears, hippos, gator and the rest of the collection this Presidents Day. We're open with normal operating hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us!
