Hey, Frank! Where can we read some of your stories for free? Why I'm glad you asked. Here are some links to free stories by me, Frank Oreto.
My Hillbilly Apocalypse story "Phase II" is here- (the other links are in the comments to this post. Enjoy!)
My story “Dueling Ground” is the most autobiographical story I’ve ever sold. If you grew up with me in the 1980’s don’t be surprised if someone a lot like you or someone you knew is in there!
Hinnom Magazine #5 featuring my story “All God’s Creatures Got Reasons.” Is live. Get your copy today!
So, “Secret Ballot” sold to Scary Dairy in January and “All Gods Creatures Got Reasons” went to Hinnom Magazine in February. Not a bad start for the year. Now, if I can just sell a novel.
Two days until my story “Dekker’s Miracle” appears in Metaphorosis Magazine. I’m pretty excited as this is the first story I’ve sold that takes place in Hope’s Rest, a fictional small town in the hills of Tennessee that bears absolutely no resemblance to the actual small Eastern Tennessee town I grew up in. 😉
Slapping on my editor's hat! On Dec. 1st Triangulation will be accepting submissions. We're looking for fantasy, science-fiction, and horror on this year's theme: Music! find all the details here: parsecink.com/submission-gui… … Tell us a story!
Pick Your Poison, the anthology featuring my story “God, Bingo, and Pierogi” has made it on to Amazon’s best selling anthology list. Which means if I cross my fingers and squint my eyes a lot, I can almost claim to be a best selling author!!😀 Seriously, check it out if you haven’t already. It’s a great collection.
Two announcements. 1) The anthology Pick Your Poison featuring my flash story "God, Bingo, and Pierogie" is now available for pre-order at Amazon. (release date Oct. 17)
2) The good folks at Disturbed Digest have just purchased my story "The God of West Kansas" for their June 2018 issue.
So NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month) starts up November first. One month to pump out a novel. Wifey says I’m doing it so it’s decision time.
Which of the following three ideas do I go with?
1)Elder God vs the Elderly. A dark god comes to take revenge on the man who stopped it back in WWII. Horror in the retirement home!...
2)Weird Western: reformed shootists, Taoist swordsmen, the Illuminati toy company, living trains and demonic Buffalo. And a hot air ballon.
Or finally: 3)Bradbury in reverse. Traveling carnival must save themselves from the dark evil of the small town they’ve set up in.
