Hey, Frank! Where can we read some of your stories for free? Why I'm glad you asked. Here are some links to free stories by me, Frank Oreto.
My Hillbilly Apocalypse story "Phase II" is here- (the other links are in the comments to this post. Enjoy!)

"Phase II" is a horror short story by Frank Oreto

My story “Dueling Ground” is the most autobiographical story I’ve ever sold. If you grew up with me in the 1980’s don’t be surprised if someone a lot like you or someone you knew is in there!

Outstanding storyteller. Frank's "Phase II" made me homesick in the way that only a riveting, creepy, and funny Hillbilly Apocalypse story can. If you're not reading - or listening - to these stories,... you're doing yourself great personal harm. See More

Two days until my story “Dekker’s Miracle” appears in Metaphorosis Magazine. I’m pretty excited as this is the first story I’ve sold that takes place in Hope’s Rest, a fictional small town in the hills of Tennessee that bears absolutely no resemblance to the actual small Eastern Tennessee town I grew up in. 😉

‪Ever feel like your roots don’t so much anchor you as tie you down? Ever want to escape? Read “Dekker’s Miracle,” available December 22nd at

I am seeking a writing Nemesis for public feuding which of course conceals a mutual grudging admiration. Sarcastic wit and a good sneer are a must. Message me. #inanotherworldwewouldhavebeenfriends

I am Shiva destroyer of superfluous characters and unnecessary backstory!!

The Write or Die October story readings/ excuse for a party was grand. Good stories, good food, good friends. What more do you need in life?

So NaNoWriMo (national novel writing month) starts up November first. One month to pump out a novel. Wifey says I’m doing it so it’s decision time.
Which of the following three ideas do I go with?

1)Elder God vs the Elderly. A dark god comes to take revenge on the man who stopped it back in WWII. Horror in the retirement home!

2)Weird Western: reformed shootists, Taoist swordsmen, the Illuminati toy company, living trains and demonic Buffalo. And a hot air ballon.

Or finally: 3)Bradbury in reverse. Traveling carnival must save themselves from the dark evil of the small town they’ve set up in.

Thoughts? Opinions?
