I just want to thank you people for making AUAF the symbol of hope in Afghanistan for many people. I can not thank AUAF enough for how it changed my life and as well as many others. It changed my mind...set in many aspects. Me and three of my brothers studied there at some point of time as well as my wife and many more of relatives and friends there. On October 12th, FAUAF held a very successful fundraising event in Dallas at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Both President Bush and Mrs. Bush attended the event. The evening was a celebration of the outpouring of support from the Dallas community, particularly The First Baptist Medical Center that provided critical surgical pro bono care for one of AUAF’s badly wounded students. During the panel discussion at the event, one of the topics discussed was the longevity and the significance of the USAWC. American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) #AUAF #Educationwillprevail

On November 2, Nadia Behboodi- Director of AUAF's International Center for Afghan Women's Economic Development (ICAWED, Kat Conlon- Executive Director of Friends of AUAF and Joanne Faulkner- AUAF's Government Relations Representative visited Rep. Susan Davis of California to discuss the advancement of women in Afghanistan and AUAF's commitment to developing the future generation of women entrepreneurs and leaders.

Nadia Behboodi, the Executive Director of ICAWED, participated in the leadership circle of the Bush Presidential Institute. The Institute is in the process of d...esigning a new leadership program for Middle East, North Africa and Afghanistan. It coincided with the leadership circle of the the institute and she had the chance to take part in both.
Ms. Behboodi participated in the panel on leadership challenges for women, women's economic empowerment and trajectories of success.
She also talked about the role of AUAF in preparing the future leaders of Afghanistan, as well as the work the Women Center is doing to advance the development opportunities for women.

American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) added 5 new photos.

AUAF welcomed 48 new students (44 of whom were female) funded by the US Embassy Scholarship joined the university for a new student orientation in September. O...rientation sessions, hosted by Student Affairs, took place on September 26 – 27th and included topics such as the Residence Life, IT, Student Finance, Registration, Student Affairs, and life at AUAF. Students also took placement tests for English and Math to determine their placement in the subjects. These students will participate in a condensed semester beginning on October 2nd:
