Yes, I’m social distancing with the moon!

No photo description available.

Personally, a fan of the Red Wolves as the replacement.

People are going to be incensed, talk about boycotting the NFL, the micro-season, and who knows what else.

Let’s just say goodbye to American pastimes and opportunities to celebrate and come together because someone didn’t get everything they wanted— said few successful people ever.

...

Change is difficult— especially when it’s not dictated by yourself.

A lot of people are figuring out how out of control life has been for most others throughout their entire lives, or at least a massive chunk of it.

Imagine having someone yell at you for no apparent reason, blame you for how they feel, tell you what to do, and make it clear how much more they know than you because of status and privilege. They have no issues letting everyone know how little respect they have for you, and it has nothing to do with anything other than making sure others pile on similarly.

That’s one way of describing life in the shoes of the oppressed and intentionally marginalized.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if the national news got wind of a certain statewide-winning basketball program that carries the same moniker as the outgoing Washington team’s and discovered its home to a merry band of the most vocal Trump supporters?

I defended that once upon a time in an alternate universe where that was too much.

My hometown doesn’t even need face-masks to protect their coworkers, friends, family and neighbors from a virus that damages organs and tissues from head to toe.

Many from my hometown also don’t need to learn anything new that they don’t fully understand or need taught or explained to them in depth. If it requires effort outside of work and kids, it doesn’t matter. If it doesn’t make common sense or is full of clichés, it sounds more like world of Warcraft.

What’s the point? Every town in the 15th should be preparing for a seizure event that repeats suddenly.

If we don’t invest heavily in our own innovative approaches to adapt and begin growing rural economies during active and post-COVID-19 AND convince enough Democratic, Independent and Rational Republicans elected officials to move OUR legislative, economic, healthcare and education priorities in vectors that provide opportunities for workers and entrepreneurs, there won’t be many of these economies left that millions of Americans rely on to help put food on the table and a roof above that.

However, the same folks are likely to be re-elected or worse candidates are vying to replace them and no one knows much about either.

Doesn’t everyone feel automatically relieved when a candidate repeatedly tells you how amazing they are for the job they’re asking you to give them and yet never provides any concrete examples?

At least the Wash Reds have some tangible examples to ferret out over the micro-season.

With polls closing in a little over an hour, I wanted to take the time to thank every person, every organization, and every county party that worked tirelessly with our campaign and for other candidates throughout the 15th District. Over the last 18 months it has been an honor and a pleasure to meet so many people in this great district. To see us all come together and work for a better tomorrow for our families, communities, state and country has been as inspiring as it has been buoying throughout this campaign. I’m looking forward to seeing the returns as they come in throughout this evening. We must take this energy, this drive, and these ideas and funnel all of it into everything we do to lift each other up throughout the next two years.

Saturday night I had the pleasure of being in Crawford County, listening and exchanging ideas as we enjoy some fried chicken and ham. Here’s my speech, it’s less than 20 minutes long, and it’s chock full of solutions to move Central and Southern Illinois into this century and through the next decade. Have a blessed day!!!
