THE JEWELED GECKO… Watch with volume
These agile little Jeweled Geckoes (Strophurus elderi) are masters of spinifex grass, maneuvering easily through the spiny ...stems. Watch how this little fellow climbs up a single stem with ease; even showing off a little by hanging on with only two of its four limbs. Jeweled geckoes only grow to around 5cm and can disappear inside the matrix of spinifex grass that they inhabit in an instant. Lucky for me this individual wasn’t to spooked by our presence and climbed up to the top for a few photos.

330 different leopard gecko phenotypes from JBReptiles in 73 seconds video!

The vendor with the cork bark displays, 30 seconds in, told me that I shouldn't be taking pictures. I immediately put my phone away, he then called security on a walkie talkie. The arrived immediately, but I managed to elude capture!

Great weekend!

NARBC: North American Reptile Breeders Conference

Last night's USARK Auction goes down as the most special one for me personally. The industry showed its warm and caring side, a side too often hidden. You all... made it possible by raising $220 for the IHS, $4065 for Rattlesnake Preservation Trust, $46,278 for USARK and most importantly $45,083 for Joe Hupp to pay for his 8-year-old daughter's funeral expenses and medical bills. That room of people is what makes me so proud to be a part of NARBC and the community that we all try to help. For the night we were all one.....with one purpose. Now let’s try to keep that night alive as we move forward. Thanks from myself and the entire NARBC and USARK staff for everyone's incredible contributions.

Auckland Zoo is at Auckland Zoo.

Our geckos are incredibly diverse and have some amazing adaptations for life in Aotearoa. In today's episode of Zoo Tales, Ecotherm keeper Emily tells us what's so great about New Zealand's gecko species!

Please donate whatever you can.

One of the most amazing families I know is going through something no one should ever have to go through. Their daughter Anna has PKAN (a degenerative neurological disorder) and after years of struggling and many hospital stays, she has taken a turn for the worse. Her family will need help wi...

The island of Giraglia is a windswept pile of rocks that sits within eyeshot of the northern tip of Corsica in the Mediterranean sea. Humans never lived here, but two types of geckos do. One runs free; the other’s a prisoner—and their story may help unravel a longstanding evolutionary mystery.
