Christy and I were honored to spend this Veterans Day weekend with around 50 Marines and over 100 guests at the Marine Ball in Fort Wayne, celebrating the 242nd birthday of the Marine Corps. Shared the story of Christy's 5 times great grandfather, Captain John Duncan Smith, who fought in the Battle of Tripoli. Each family has its own everyday hero, who might not have made it into the history books, but they sacrificed so that we can be free. Thank a veteran and share their story. It's a great way to honor their service and sacrifice.
It was a tremendous honor to present WOWO's Pat Miller the Daniel Award at the Allen County Right to Life banquet last week. Christy and I admire Pat and his wife Kim and are grateful for his service to the conservative cause and his willingness to fight to protect every life that God has created.
One of the best parts of my time in Congress was when the Honor Flights came to town. These WWII heroes inspired us every time to keep up the fight for freedom and liberty. The stories these men and women had at the ages of 18, 17, and one even said 16 🙂, were heroic, amazing, and inspiring!! So glad Christy, the boys, and I were able to have that experience. Thank-you veterans!!
Great video that Payton is in with my parents, brother, sister, and nieces and nephews at the chicken farm. Shows how much American farmers mean to the world by producing good quality food for all of our families.
Special night last night! Very honored to be presented with the Sagamore of the Wabash Award by Gov. Daniels that is signed by Governor Mike Pence. See details below-

Former Gov. Daniels Presents Stutzman with Sagamore
February 28, 2017
West LaFayette, Indiana - Former US Congressman Marlin Stutzman was awarded Indiana's highest citizen award last night, The Sagamore of the Wabash. The Sagamore was presented to Stutzman by former Governor and current President of Purdue University, Mitch Daniels. Stutzman served under three governors while in the State House and Senate and served as the youngest member of the legislature for several years before serving in the US House of Representatives for Indiana's 3rd District for the past six years.
He says that his service under Governor Daniels was "one of the greatest times in my life." Stutzman recalls some "tough decisions" that he had to make under Daniels, but says that Governor Daniels was able to unite lawmakers to find "innovative, effective ways to turn Indiana around in a lot of ways."
Stutzman said that the award was a complete surprise. "I just thought my family and I were coming to an exciting night of basketball! They really surprised me! To receive this award is such an honor and to have Governor Daniels present it to me was incredibly memorable and meaningful. I am grateful to Senator Long, Representative Zent, Governor Daniels, my wife and to all those who had a hand in recommending me to receive the Sagamore of the Wabash. It was wonderful to have my sons with me for this special night as well. I am truly humbled and honored."
This was one of the coolest dinner events I enjoyed while in DC! He was very gracious and full of wisdom.
I hope the left remains civil in this discourse. From what I see so far most haven't, like burning an immigrant muslims limousine in DC, interrupting town hall meetings, etc. They are acting immature because "they didn't get their way". Time to grow up and act like responsible adults. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. When you lose it's an opportunity to find a way to win.
Interesting!! The truth comes out in Planned Parenthoods own words.
Senate Should Act Quickly to Confirm Sessions
With this divisive election behind us, it’s time for Congress and the president to unite across party lines and do what’s right for our country. One of the best ways to accomplish this is for the Senate to confirm Jeff Sessions as attorney general. During my years serving Indiana’s 3rd District I worked with Jeff Sessions on several issues and have found him to be unequivocally one of the most honest and fair indi...
Big congratulations to newly elected Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch, Attorney General Curtis Hill, and Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick! We are all so proud of your strong election wins and looking for great things from your leadership. We have come a long way in Indiana over this past decade but we know that with your leadership and all Hoosiers pulling together that we will take Indiana to the next level! Great to see so many friends at the inauguration in Indianapolis! We have much to be proud of, but much work that still needs to be done. God bless Indiana!
From the day I was elected as a 26 year old part-time state legislator to the day I was sworn in as Indiana's 3rd District US Congressman, it has been my highest honor to represent the people of Indiana. Today will be my first day out of public service in over 14 years. It has been a remarkable experience! I want to thank the citizens of Northeast Indiana who put their trust in me to serve them at the Indiana state house and in the US Congress! It has been such a humbling and... rewarding experience.
We live in the greatest country in the world because our Founding Fathers created a system of government that protects freedom, liberty, and opportunity for all Americans! I am excited about what the future hold for us as a country and I trust that our new leaders in Washington, DC and in Indianapolis will continue to protect our constitutional freedoms by letting the American people lead us to greater freedom and prosperity.
It is with deepest gratitude that I thank you sincerely for the honor to serve as your representative for our state and nation. It is an experience I will never forget, and I look forward to staying involved in our democratic process in the years to come.
May God bless you in this new year and may God continue to bless the United States of America!
Enjoyed being at the White House Congressional Christmas Party with my lovely wife, Christy Stutzman, last night. It's been an honor to serve the incredible people of Indiana's 3rd Congressional District for the past 6 years. Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas Season!
