I love those great old VW ads

With this sixth Volkswagen ad, from 1959, the “artillery had moved into position and found precise aim,” says Helmut Krone biographer Clive Challis. https://volkswagen-ads.com

Hey guys, I don't want to create a big muck but I want to know yall's opinions between Dellorto and Weber Carbs. Currently I have a Webber progressive on a 2.0L... type 4 but I want dual Carbs.
Awhile Back I got a heck of a deal on a pair of Del 40s. (Used) according to the To the PO they should be ready to slap into a 2L but I'm weary of that statement and might just go ahead and try and find someone to rebuild them. I went to a local Shop that always has aircooled cars and the owner was recommending that I steer away from Dellorto because they're "fire prone" or something to that effect. He also told me that he prefers Webers over all.

OPINIONS? Anyone? I just want to hear everyone's experience with dels

(PIC FOR ATTENTION)

Lots of unique vehicles today. Here are a few shots I got. Sorry to anyone I missed, I got there kind of late.
