I saw the matinee performance today of “Blind Date” with a friend and we loved it to the moon! Absolutely outstanding! It hit 10s across the board on all points—script, cast, directing, art direction,... stagecraft.

It was so funny, so many laughs. Every member of the cast was strong, no weak links. So brilliantly innovative in its staging. The scene changes were magnificent. I may see it again with my husband. I told him all about it and he became intrigued and said he would like to see it.

I urge everyone reading, make the time and set your budget to make room for a couple of tickets to catch this gem before it leaves Chicago.

From Alfieri's opening words through the final curtain this cast mesmerized. The staging and unsettling"pulses" framed the tragedy, even with the lighter moments in the beginning serving to temper the... drama. At one point I realized just how quiet the audience was; as if we were all holding our breaths, not wanting to miss a word. Our trip back to Champaign afterwards was a continuous discussion of the characters, the whole idea of what happens when we can't change to accept new things, and how glad we were to have made the drive to see this. This is a must see, especially with this cast of players. Bravo! See More

I attended Yasmina's Necklace and I can't even begin to explain what an amazing performance this was. The acting was just phenomenal, the vibes, the history, the story being told through their words a...nd actions really placed me in their shoes. The level of empathy I reached while watching , I felt it was my story being played out on stage. Amazing story, amazing acting, and the Theater and its associates were very friendly. This was my first time attending a play here, but I guarantee it will not be my last!! I can't wait to go see more!! See More

From beginning to end everything about A View from the Bridge was amazing! The focused tech, the glow of the set with the lighting bouncing and breathing off the floor, the sound at perfect moments to... enhance the sense of atmosphere, the performances across the board showing strong relationships between each and every character, and being able to see every subtle movement and facial expression. It was such an amazing experience to be able to see it from onstage. I can't imagine seeing it any other way! See More

Took my boys to see A Christmas Carol for their first time yesterday, and they said it was AMAZING! I love The Goodman’s production of this play, have seen it several years, and each year is always am...azing! Love to see the changes they make each year, and even though I know the story, am still moved each time I see it. My boys (8 and 10) can’t wait to go again next year to see what’s different! Thanks Goodman Theater for a wonderful production! See More

Yes it's so horrible the seating! All these giant people sat in front & us short people could not see the stage cuz the stage was so low & the actors & actresses kept sitting down on the floor! We cou...ld not see them at all!
Plus the Play La Havana was way to political, it's all about immigration & they put a lot of people from Chicago down that was not nice at all & kept using the N Word ShameOn Them!
U people still are living here & making big bucks You who's the producer is not a nice person to make such a play!
I was growing up in the 60's I do not remember Chicagoans being against the Puerto Rican People! I went to St. Michael's , Newberry & Waller High School & I remember Going to school with The P.R.'S &!we were close friends!

La Havana Madrid was an incredible experience! As a Latina raised on Chicago's north side, I was taken back to many of the similar stories I have of my family and I living here and adjusting to life i...n the big city. Beautifully written and the cast performance was terrific! I even danced with my sister towards the end of the show with the cast. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to bring this to fruition! Again, an amazing performance of A Christmas Carol and perfection from Mr. Yando. I can't think of anyone else who performs Scrooge as he does. He truly makes the show, but all the performers are awesome. I had a great time!!! Thank you, Goodman, and to all the performers!! See More

BLIND DATE was first rate! (It was definitely not a blind date for us, but indubitably a great date night nevertheless; after the show we scarfed down cheeseburgers at a tony supper joint dubbed the S...tate & Lake Tavern.)

The two-and-a-half hour witty and often comic reconstruction of U.S. President Reagan's and U.S.S.R. Politburo Secretary Gorbachev's critical first summit in 1983 in Geneva, Switzerland, seems exquisitely timed in its opening at the Goodman Theatre, we both agreed, what with another American president (and conservative Republican launched by the entertainment industry, believe it or not!) afoot on neutral Swiss soil, meeting with the world's leaders for momentous purposes....which could halt or hasten the advancing Doomsday Clock.

YASMINA'S NECKLACE - A beautifully written tale, with wonderful performances. You will be mesmerized by the raw emotions and laugh with the self-aware characters. It doesn't take long to feel at home ...with these families. I think the simplicity kept it fresh. The art on display during intermission was a pleasure to see. You will be thinking about the play and its stories for days. See More

Five stars? That is a stretch. My loyalty to The Goodman is unwavering after seeing some of the most exceptional theater of our age. This show does not fall into that category. Sadly, the script i...s trite. The premise was promising but the dialogue did not deliver. The two female characters were exceptional. The Russian accents were atrocious. Is there a dialect coach on staff? The set and lighting were superb. I love you Goodman, but I expected much more. See More

The music of La Havana Madrid I expected to be fantastic and it did not disappoint. The stories were truly inspiring and have touched my heart. Any true Chicagoan should know our history as told by experience. This city was forged by the willing and the unwilling, by its' heroes and its' victims. See More

“Yasmina’s necklace”. Very talented cast and the designers bring the play to life. Not shying away from the harsh realities of millions of refugees and displaced people and the discrimination that sti...ll undermines the "American Dream" for many, but fully recognizing that change is possible. It is an important message. See More

An excellent portrayal of a time when cooler heads prevailed in global affairs. This was an engaging and extraordinarily well produced play.
“Nancy Reagan” was, simply, amazing!

My family of five went to see A Christmas Carol. The performance was wonderful. The theater staff was helpful and cheerful. The experience was great and one we will be repeating.
