Awful service. The tables are so close together but then they seem inconvenienced when they have to squeeze through to serve other tables. They spilled a drink all over my friend's jacket and then act...ed like it was his fault because he couldn't get closer to the table. The whole time we felt rushed. The tables are so small and all communal, so our food barely fit on our portion and they made sure to remind us that someone else would be seated with us soon. They had the attitude that since this was a busy restaurant, we should just be happy to be sitting there. That said, the flautas were pretty good and the jackfruit carnitas. The flan was gross, none of us liked it. I hear the one in LA is better. Most likely won't return to the restaurant. See More

It was so delicious! Not only was the food food but they were quick to seat us, take our order and bring out our food. I admit I was nervous to sit an a communal table since I have never experienced i...t, but it was really neat and we enjoyed the family we sat with. My non-Vegan husband devoured his food (Flautas) and we shared an appetizer of the cauliflower with cheese (which was AMAZING!) I highly suggest eating and Gracias Madres and enjoying their food and atmosphere. See More

The Posole was amazing, as was the the plantanos that I sampled. Everything was full of flavor. The carrot/ginger/lime aguas fresca was refreshment, and the flan was a nice finish to the whole meal.

...Yeah, I'll come back; I just wish that it was much closer to me (South Bay) otherwise, I'd return on weekly basis. See More

The dishes that I got were the guacamole an appetizer which was perfect and the enchiladas which were absolutely delicious! I liked everything about the restaurant except the service... it was a lit...tle slow!!! It seemed like they only had two Waiters and a packed House . I would definitely go there again ...seems like you need to be there between 1:00p.m. to 3 p.m. on the off hours just after lunch just before dinner to get quickly seated but then you have to wait a while for the service. But it is definitely worth waiting for. See More

Worst service ever. I sat down to realize that someone stuck gum under the seat. When getting up it was all over my black jeans. I looked at the waiter for assistance and his response was "I don't kno...w what to say"... I responded that It would be great if he brought me a wet towel to clean it off. He took an old wet counter cleaning towel that smelled like it has been used all day to clean tables, handed it to me, and walked off. I believe his name was Miguel I believe.

Furthermore, my friends food order was delayed by about 30 min. I think the waitress forgot to put it in and when we asked if it's on it's way she looked confused and it was obvious she forgot to put the order in.

Terrible service and food was not that great.

Make it YOUR Mission to visit Gracias Madre

First thing I'd say is that you really do need to book in advance if you want to dine here. Our first attempt was mid-week and we hadn't booked so we were ...told it would be a 90 minute wait. This isn't a criticism of the restaurant but rather an illustration of how popular it is.

We decided to eat elsewhere, on this first occasion, but were determined to return.

Our visit was everything we'd been told to expect; great service from Tim, who was beyond attentive and upbeat; good food and lovely atmosphere.

We sat in the outside area and were concerned that it may get cold but were happily heated by well-positioned patio lamps.

The staff there certainly work for their money and were constantly on the go; our server was Tim but others were always around to help and clear away plates or top up water.

Overall, this was an enjoyable experience in a vibrant venue.

I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner because of the hype. It was overpriced for the amount of food you get, but the Cashew Nacho Cheese was the only thing that made the whole dinner wo...rth it. At least the Birthday Boy liked it. See More

Really good Mexican food, vegan or not. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Service was quick and the place was busy. Will go back again as their menu is extensive and changes seasonally, so ...much to try. See More

I used to go to this restaurant all the time but one day I was in the restroom washing my hands and one of their cook came out of the restroom and walked out without washing her hands. I complained to... the manager right away but she did not seem surprised or bothered by this. It made me sick thinking that there is someone cooking in the kitchen with unwashed hands after the use of restrooms. I never went back but I found out that the cook still works there. See More

The food was fantastic . The flavor and presentation were great . I predefined the potatoes and hash with a side of tortillas, corn . The music was also great as was the vibe . The waitress was very and suggested a few options . I wished it was closer to where I live ... I would be visiting them often

I have loved everything I've eaten here — but the star of every meal is the Totopos appetiser. Just order it! It sounds weird but it's awesome. --> "House made chips tossed in a creamy chipotle salsa ...roja. Topped with cashew crema and cilantro." Add chorizo! See More

This restaurant looked good from some reviews before coming and trying, didn't look disappointing.
We add our name to the list and our wait time is an hour and fifteen. Well I'll wait I'm hungry, an...d I must be good for the long wait I suppose.
We get seated by the host and asks if we could make our meal quick and be done by one hour or wait for another table. Here we are starving and our hunger was worst, we take the table, oh well!
We are seated and have already looked at menu and ordered all times as follows:
1. Totopos con guacamole $10 2. Tacos with vegetables $17 3. Oven Potaoes with cashew $9 cream 4. Cauliflower $8 5. Enchiladas Verdes $17 6. Black Bean Burger $16 7. Quesadilla with sweet potato 8. Horchata and Sparkling Lemonade $21

As we get our items to our table first come the totopos with guacamole, there was probably 15 chips if at most, the guacamole was ok.
The oven potatoes come second, they are not hot but they are very dry almost like they've been sitting all day in oven and forgotten there.flavor was good but tough potatoes
Cauliflower comes next it's mid warm to our table, it was tasty. someone else mentioned, same sauce to each plate.
The quesadilla for my daughter comes next she's 5, picky eater but had a taste of it and it was a good filling for sweet potato.
The tacos arrive and tortillas are cold and the veggies tasted like they went bad, spoiled taste. Returned those didn't ask for anything else very disappointed at this point,
Then my plate arrives for the enchiladas Verdes they are also cold, as I'm eating out of my plate the only heated food on mine was the black beans. Taste was at a rate of 5, lacks flavor.
Lastly the black bean burger it also came cold for it comes with slaw, couldn't taste any flavor. the slaw was spicy.
First time coming and not ever coming back. Our server was fair with service.

I’m rating the food quality and the service not the restrooms and the wait. Get there early and make sure your party there and ready to sit down .

First time eating at a vegan Mexican restaurant and it didn't disappoint. My wife is vegetarian so it's hard for her to find stuff she can eat and Mexican is one of the few things. We had a reservatio...n for 1pm but we got there early and they sat us right away. The food and service was great. Will definitely return. See More

Posole was delicious!! I was I lived closer to come here more often. I ordered food to go and go my food within 10 minutes. Great service. Can’t wait to come back and try other entrees.
