Being a daily commuter trying to make my train its becoming very difficult to navigate thru the terminal clogged with hundreds of gawking tourists oblivious to what’s going on around them or what the ...true purpose of a train terminal is. Years ago you were able to go up onto the balcony’s and look down on the action before they closed off access and turned it into a commercial tourist circus money-grab. They let people block the main staircases by sitting or taking pictures while us commuters have to fight our way to our track to make our train after a long day of work. missing a train may mean another hour wait for the next one. They always put the sucker commuter last. It’s almost impossible to use the bathrooms because the line is always out the door. It’s become a joke. See More

I went through Grand Central every day as a teenager on my way to school. I didn't really pay it much attention back then. The ceilings were blackened by cigarette smoke and city grime, the seating ar...eas were filled with homeless people--not very tour-worthy. The homeless are still here, but the the ceiling is clean (except that one spot to show how dirty it used to be) and the shops are buzzing. Now I go through, everyday on my way to work. I always check out the displays in the PIQ Store near the Shuttle. Loved the "Cereal Killers" display last week. Lots of bathrooms on the lower level for the ladies--very little wait time. See More

Grand Central. St Patrick’s Day for the Parade. What a hoot! From Brewster to GCT. I’ve now been through it a few times during two holidays and WOW! My camera can’t get enough of it but it’s the video...s I love. The peak time rush is so buzzy and exciting. I just marvel as to how the hell so many people get it and out relatively smoothly! Incredible! Sorry to the regulars but take time to enjoy your city’s beauty! One happy Aussie! See More

Grand Central Terminal is a beautiful place to stop and stare at 'the stars above' while you zip around the New York Subways. Fabulous bars and restaurants in every nook and cranny. Check out the Bar located under the Terminal - if you love delicious seafood as much as I do. An iconic piece of New York history See More

A walk through the main hall will take you back in time. The station is a beautiful landmark just to stare up and see the old fashion simple celestial painting. Look for the whispering hall and test i...t out. Go down stairs and enjoy one if the finer food-food courts you've ever been in. There are also all types shops and a small one room train museum / gift shop. I wouldn't put it as a must see NYC but if you're going by that way, check it out, have a snack and rest your feet. It was an incredible transportation hub, the architecture and design was amazing, the food court on the lower levels were great for bite, by the way take a look up at the ceiling in the main lobby.

Looks like the Grand Central Terminal that Cornelius Vanderbilt built has become an international tourist attraction. More people from outside USA seemed to be taking Selfies than I have ever seen in ...the past 50 years.... there should be a picture taking service added, to help these folks get better shots than their silly Selfies!! An old treasured landmark in an amazing city. The opulence and beauty can transport your imagination to a historical past. If only these walls could talk, the millions of stores they would tell.
