Congratulations to all the teams who competed at the District FLL Tournament Saturday! Thank you to team 6987 HatTrix for all the help with the tournament and to Licking Valley Schools for hosting. Good Luck to the teams that will be moving on to the State Tournament - The Lego Lords, New Albany, The Wizards, Granville, The Robotic Panthers, Newark, The Scientific Sorcerers, Granville, The TechnoStorm, Dublin and The Granville Master Builders!

More robotics action this weekend, January 20th at Licking Valley High School. Check out the Central Ohio District FIRST Lego League HydroDynamics Tournament. 7 Teams from here will advance to the Ohio Championship in Dayton! Robot Competition begins at 1:00 pm - and is open to the public!

Lots of robot action the last 2 weeks. Congratulations to these Licking County FIRST Lego League teams who recently won awards in Regional competitions:

• Mindstorm Wizards, Granville, Champion’s Award Licking Valley Qualifier
And these teams who advanced to the District Tournament:

They will be competing at the COTC and Ohio State Newark District Tournament on Saturday, January 13th at the Reese Center. Come watch these fantastic teams and their robots!

Congratulations to the Granville robotics team, Missing Parts, for winning the Rockwell Collins Innovation Award at their tournament in Austintown yesterday! We also were a finalist for the Motivation Award for our work in promoting STEM on the community.

Congratulations to team 6987 HatTrix on hosting an outstanding FIRST Tech Challenge Tournament on Saturday. The team did a spectacular job with the event – and worked very hard to make it special for all the teams competing.

Thank you to our Tournament Sponsors – COTC and Ohio State Newark for once again providing wonderful support to all the FIRST teams. This event gave local teams from Granville, Newark, Columbus, Dublin an excellent chance to compete with their robots.

Congratulations to our First Tech Challenge Team, Missing Parts, 10489 for winning the Motivate Award for our work in motivating STEM in the local schools! We also were third in the Connect Award for connecting STEM in the community!

We also placed 8th in qualifying and were picked in the fourth alliance! We are excited to improve the robot for next week's competition!

Congratulations to local team 6987 HatTrix for being recognized as one of Ohio's Showcase Teams! HatTrix will be hosting a local FIRST Tech Challenge Tournament on Saturday, December 9th on the campus of COTC and Ohio State Newark.

Showcase teams are recognized by FIRST in Ohio for actively and professionally reaching out to the community in a minimum of three grand scale outreach events AND at least three smaller scale activities during a given season. This year was the inaugural year for the program in Ohio. Teams were required to document and certify all of their outreach during the eligibility period of Sept. 2016 to Sept. 2017. Congratulations to the Granville Master Builders for winning the Project Award at the Marburn FIRST Lego League Qualifier today. Also to Master Builder Team Mentor and 6987 HatTrix Team Member Thomas Weis for winning the Mentor Award! The Granville Master Builders have advanced to the COTC and Ohio State Newark District tournament on January 13.
