Protesters were out blockading the Go Ahead Queen's Road bus depot this morning in advance of the disciplinary hearing on Friday for the Unite rep the company is trying to victimise. The background to this is an attempt by the company to sack the entire workforce and re-hire them on worse terms and conditions - including cutting sick pay. Sick pay is vital for public health at any time - but doing this during a pandemic is utterly irresponsible.

Nice to see that GMP are assisting the company by taking buses down a side street 🤔

Magnificant rally for #trans rights today in Manchester: 1-2000 people despite torrential rain and the need for social distancing could be the biggest trans rights demo in Manchester so far. Protesters marched to join a rally for justice for Shukri Abdi, with chants of Black Lives Matter! Trans Lives Matter! Full report to follow. There will be another rally on 11 July - let's make it bigger still and block the government's attempts to ramp up transphobia: https://www.facebook.com/events/724733455021718/
