Do you already drive to campus from another part of the island? Are you thinking about forgoing TheBus for a car? Figure out transportation costs using these new tools.…/can-you-drive-to-a…

Here’s a new tool you can use to calculate just how affordable (or not) it is to live in Hawaii based on where you live and how you travel.

In the spirit of wanting your Halloween to be as enjoyable as possible we would like to share preventative measures to assure you have a safe Halloween.

• Be alert at all times: Always be aware of your surroundings. With Halloween on Oahu comes an increase of pedestrian traffic including trick-or-treaters, partygoers, spectators, and tourists. Think about this especially in the evening when you are crossing streets, driving, or are in any public place.
• Trust your instinct...s: If at anytime you feel uncomfortable, go with this feeling and remove yourself from the situation into a safe environment.
• Use the buddy system: Avoid isolated areas and walking alone. Form a buddy system with close friends and make an effort to walk on well-lighted streets. Go together, stay together and leave together.
• Identification and Communication: It is vital to always carry identification with you at all times. Further, communicate your schedule with a friend or family member, let them know your plans for the evening- where you will be going and when you anticipate returning.

Have a fun and safe Halloween!
