Are you passionate about Hailey's public trees? The Hailey Tree Committee is recruiting new members. This committee was formed to protect public trees after t...wo ancient spruce were removed from Hailey's street right of way. The City Council said never again, and passed an ordinance to protect our urban forest and promote healthy trees. The Tree Committee meets once per month September through May to consider all relevent matters related to trees. They have published a tree species guide for our area. Arborfest is one of their signature events. If you are interested in being on this committee, please call 208-788-4221 ext 18 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Arborfest has been cancelled due to flooding, expected wind gusts and precipitation. Please consider volunteering your time to assist those in need instead. Those that would like to participate can meet at the sand pile located on Maple Street in Hailey to fill sandbags.
ArborFest Update: The 6th annual ArborFest is almost here! Come on Saturday, May 13 to Hop Porter Park in Hailey to celebrate earth and trees. These two photos are only a day apart. The Big Wood River is carrying much more water, much faster. Please stay away from the river and from closed streets. D...raper Preserve is fully closed. Do not access the closed areas in west Hailey; they have become highly dangerous. Thanks to all for your cooperation and assistance!
