The latest set of babysitter graduates were wonderful students to work with. Both their parents and the Academy should feel proud of the thoughtful, engaged, and attentive teens they’re raising. I appreciated their drive and enthusiasm! Extra special thank you to the parents who came in to our class as special presenters. Thank you Shannon Tremblay for sharing Ages and Stages. Thank you Alison Valhouli for demonstrating diapering. Thank you Ms. Paulina & Leigh Tellier for showing us how to Play! Thank you Emily & Max for sharing babysitting insight. Extra extra big thank you to Hampton FD & Officer Denio for arranging CPR & First Aid training.
Much love to you, our library community! ❤️

We'd like to thank you all for your patience and excitement as we get closer to having new windows in the Children's Room. Safety is our first priority, and engineers are working out the structural support details on the installation. We want to have the windows in, while maintaining the existing building as much as possible. Right now we are looking at late summer.
Can touching a toad give you warts? Can sound break glass? This enjoyable exhibition for kids and families explores the scientific method. What beliefs do we have about the natural world and how do we determine if the beliefs are actually true - or false? The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center's newest exhibit 'True or False' is open through April 29, 2018.
Reserve your discounted museum passes through the library up to 7 days in advance. http://lanememoriallibrary.schedulething.com/ Valid library card required. Thanks to the Friends of Lane Library for providing us with passes to area Museums & More!

Weather forecast? What weather forecast... when we hear snow, that means READING TIME to Amanda, Kathy, & Ms. Paulina! Our Make Time To Read (Lane Library) event runs through March 20th. You've still got time to win a free coffee at the Depot Café ~ pick up a MTTR bookmark at the front desk or in the children's room (special prize for kids!).
Lane Library Director Amanda Reynolds Cooper, Children's Room's Ms. Paulina, and Ms. Kathy of Depot Café sat down in February to discuss Make Time To Read (Lane Library), our winter reading program. Adults can win a free beverage from the Depot Cafe when you pick up a MTTR bookmark at the front desk or in the children's room (special prize for kids!). Our program is nearing its end! But if you've read any books, whether it be your own, a library copy, or a digital or audio version since February 20th, they'd count! Making time to read is so important in your life. It's calming. It helps you relax. And you get to travel to different worlds! Kids build up vocabulary skills and learn lifelong reading habits. #readmore #smilemore #lovetoread
Make Time To Read (Lane Library) runs through March 20th.
