As we approach the final two shows of Brendan by Ronan Noone (today at 4pm and 8pm), we thought it most fitting to shower some much due praise on our lead, Avery Nelson Bargar. Avery has been an absolute joy to work with, and we couldn't have asked for a better Brendan. Please, please try and get out to Boston Center for the Arts to see him kill this role as well as this extraordinary "must see" cast as a whole.

Avery Bargar (Brendan) is thrilled to make his Happy Medium debut with such a fun, fantastic cast. In Boston, Avery has worked with Liars and Believers, Brown Box Theatre Project, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Hibernian Hall, Theatre on Fire, and Shit-Faced Shakespeare. He is currently training as a music director at ImprovBoston. Avery earned a B.A. in Theatre from Pitzer College in 2012, and has also studied at L’École Philippe Gaulier, the London International School of Performing Arts, and Shakespeare & Company. Since 2010 he has had the honor of improvising under the direction of Gary Austin, founder of The Groundlings. Avery would like to thank all the theatre and music teachers he has had who lit the fire and kept it burning—especially Alan, Tom, Harvey, Gayle, Marya, and José. Major gratitude to the whole Brendan team. Oh—and the family, too.

This is a story of an immigrant fighting his fears to become part of his chosen homeland, but it's also the story of a son making peace as best he can with the family he feels rejected him, but also whom he fears he has let down.
