We started bringing our cats here almost 5 years ago when we moved to the area. We had a 5 year old and a new kitten at the time. 5 years later, we have another new kitten so all 3 of our boys go here... now! I've always been amazed by this place. The level of care and knowledge that the entire staff has is incredible. I've always said they're more thorough than any human doctor I've ever visited. They do follow up calls the next day, which I've never gotten from any human doctor. You can tell they truly love what they do. Dr. Sainte is amazing, I trust her 100% and I'm a crazy cat momma so that's saying something! She answers emails with silly questions like it's nothing. I couldn't love this place more than I do. Thank you all for always taking such good care of my babies and for always being so kind and understanding! See More

This center is fantastic! I started taking my three pups there when I first moved to the area and was amazed by the caring and helpful staff. I recently had to put of of my pups down and the amount of... compassion left both myself and my family speechless. They even surprised me when I picked up my pup's ashes with a mold of her paw print and a note from the staff. The people who work here do not do so because it is just a job, but they do if out of their passion of working with animals on a daily basis. See More

We started taking out puppy Addie to Dr. Sainte from the day we bought her home. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at healthy paws. They are truly the nicest and most caring staff I have ever ...experienced. Our puppy loves going to the vet because of the staff and Dr. Sainte, every experience of hers has been wonderful. We all cannot recommend them more highly. See More

I want to say a special thank you to Dr. Tabbah, Dr. Russell, and all the staff that loved and cared for my Gracie this week. Unfortunatel she was called back to be an angel. Having to make that decis...ion while out of town was heart wrenching, but I knew she was surrounded by soooooo much at Healthy Paws. Thank for loving her for me in those final moments. As a new client, we are just starting our relationship. I could not have asked for more from everyone there. They even emailed me a picture of her. Thank you thank you thank you. See More

We have been going here for years. They love and respect pets and their owners feelings. They were very supportive when we had to decide to put our last dog down at only age 3 with kidney disease. Ver...y difficult time but they allowed us privacy with a dignified cremation that they handled for us. See More

I brought my kitten to Healthy Paws to be neutered, the thing is... Difficult case because only one testicle appeared to drop. They were very very good at understanding he was a "special" case, educat...ed me on the process and possible outcomes, and took excellent care of my kitten!! I brought him to 2 other vets who didn't even want to attempt this procedure and Healthy Paws said it was very simple and easy, he quickly recovered too! I am so grateful ♥ wonderful comforting staff as well!! See More

My name is "Vinny Valerio". I am a 90 lb. Great Pyrenees. I spent the day, yesterday, at Healthy Paws, in their "Spa". I got a wash and cut, a Mani & Pedi, and a blow dry. My owners, Ann & Tony, lov...e the way I look now. (And so do I). " Guys, this is the way to spend a day" (You Girls also). Book a day now & tell them "Vinny" sent you. See More

We had an amazing and very informative first visit with Dr. Leavey yesterday! I was so impressed that she actually sat down on the floor to examine my pet and give her belly rubs. The staff is very fr...iendly and the environment is like a pet palace! Beautiful, relaxing décor with 2 separate waiting areas. Love the windows into the cat boarding area in the lobby! Immaculate with no detectable pet odors while we were there. Looking forward to going back, as is our furry baby. I'm a fan! See More

Thank you dr Leavey! As always you took great care of Luly. The friend that I recommended to take her cat to Healthy Paws is also very happy!
Good luck keeping this cute little one calm after surgery!
And this is why we recommend using feline revolution...these are ear mites from a cats ear under the microscope.

Hot spots are a pain for you and your dog. These red, wet patches of skin are intensely irritating and very painful.

What causes them?
Anything that damages the... skin surface can trigger a hot spot. It can be something tiny such as a flea bite or a scratch from a bramble. This tiny wound allows the bacteria that normally live on the skin to gain extra nourishment and reproduce out of control causing damage. The skin becomes inflamed and painful.

Your dog will lick and nibble at the area causing more damage and making the situation worse.

How N O T to Treat a Hot Spot

• Do not apply any other antiseptics to the sore area – No TCP , Dettol, zinc oxide cream (sudocream) or anything else suggested on the internet. These will cause your dog a lot of pain and further damage the skin.

• Do not bandage the area as this will trap the moisture and bacteria and make the situation worse. Covering the area with a loose weave material – a light t shirt or loose sock is ok although bear in mind that your dog may still be able to cause damage by licking the covering and making it damp.

• Because this condition is so irritating for your pet it is sensible to seek veterinary treatment promptly if the area is large or is not responding to first aid treatment.
